Ryan's Reaction: Mark Henry dominates, Edge returns to Smackdown, Bobby Roode and Kazarian impress, and more from the previous week in wrestling and what needs to happen next week

What Went Right

- Mark Henry continued to shine throughout the past week. From his ringside antics in Randy Orton's match against Cody Rhodes on Raw to his systematic devouring of Orton and the undercard wrestlers on Smackdown to his promo about how he's dominant now because he's not trying to play nice with the backstage brass, Henry proved to be phenomenal no matter what he was doing.

- Both of the WWE midcard championships received a storyline reason for their matches to take place at Night of Champions. In a time when simply getting these belts defended on a PPV is a rarity, it's nice to see WWE still put some thought into the creation of their matches. WWE has been clumsily attempting to make their belts matter again recently, and this is just another indicator of that.

- Samoa Joe got a submission with over Matt Morgan on Impact. Joe looked vicious again which was needed after losing in such a decisive fashion at No Surrender.

- Edge made an appearance on Smackdown. While this may not seem like the biggest of deals, it's always nice to see him get a chance to make his entrance and to see that he's ok. We deal with too many tragedies as wrestling fans, and it's always nice to see a guy like Edge who managed to get out before he became one.

- Bobby Roode and Kazarian had the match of the week. They went told a great story from working a very technical match early to transitioning to an all-out brawl that stemmed from a stiff shot from Kaz when he couldn't get the better of Roode via wrestling. If every match Bobby Roode has against Fortune is going to be this good, then I will have to eat crow with my skepticism over that booking decision.

What Went Wrong

- Unfortunately, while Roode and Kaz had one of the best matches I've seen in some time, Sting and Ric Flair had one of the worst. While they did not do as poorly as I was expecting, their match was far from pretty. What's worse, this sets up Hogan and Sting at Bound For Glory, which won't have the benefit of a pretape and strategic editing.

- In another case of an old wrestler bets kept out of the ring, Jerry Lawler is involved in another wrestling feud. This time, he's going against David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty. I am not sure what they are attempting to accomplish with this feud, but if it's to get the young tag team over, they are failing miserably. These two will gain nothing from working with Jerry and constantly getting buried by whatever tag partner Lawler can find in a given week.

- John Cena continued his recent run of Super Cena promos on raw. This worries me greatly because Cena only cuts those promos when he's on the verge of capturing the title or when his opponent will have to pull off one of the biggest chickenshit moves possible in hopes of walking away with their belt. Either way, the WWE Championship will walk away with a little less prestige.

- In one of the most awkward segments in recent memory, Sin Cara returned to face off against Sin Cara. These two poor men had to try and sell a rivalry without facial expressions, without talking, and with nothing but grandiose hand gestures. I pray WWE comes up with a better idea on how to get this feud over as what we got on Smackdown simply won't work.

- Jinder Mahal has been trapped in a program with The Great Khali. I hoped last week that Khali's attack on Mahal would be the end of the pairing, but Mahal ran out on Smackdown to get his ass handed to him again. WEWE needs to get away from this feud and fast before Mahal, a promising young talent, gets sent to obscurity after repeated beat downs from the one-dimensional Khali.

What Needs to Happen Next Week

- Mark Henry needs to capture the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions.

- Bobby Roode needs to continue to have amazing in-ring performances against his fellow Fortune members. He doesn't have a heel to gain heat from, so he has to get his babyface following through impressive in-ring work.

- Samoa Joe needs to demolish somebody on Impact. He only has this week before Crimson returns, and Joe needs to look like a monster to make that confrontation mean anything.

- WWE needs to find a means of having the two Sin Caras communicate that a crowd can connect with. It almost feels like WWE has backed themselves into a corner with this one, and if their plan is to continue having the two men use interpretive dance to tell their story then this feud will fall flat on its face.

- Jinder Mahal should get the better of Khali, and then proceed to just decimate the big man. Let Khali take some time off or tour India, but Mahal needs to come out of this feud looking strong and gaining heat if he's going to go anywhere with his career.
