Kester's WWE Raw Rundown: CM Punk celebrates his one-year mark as WWE Champion, Dolph Ziggler is being mishandled, and Sheamus finally stops smiling
Nov 20, 2012 - 05:42 PM

CM Punk

The celebration last night was spot on. I find, more and more, that I can rely on Punk to produce a very entertaining segment every single Monday. Since Punk solidified his heel turn, he's been on fire.

A lot of kudos has to go to Paul Heyman for making the current Punk act so enjoyable. He comes off as downright slimy with his persona and it plays a good foil to Punk's egotistical arrogance. I hate to think about what WWE programming would be without this pair injecting some life into some otherwise drab shows.

John Cena and Dolph Ziggler

Please make this nonsense stop. This entire storyline feels forced, and it doesn't feel like it's elevating Ziggler in the slightest. This feud feels more about giving Cena something to do until WrestleMania than it does preparing Ziggler to hold a strap.

I can't believe how little follow up there was to Ziggler being the sole survivor out of the main event Survivor Series tag. A lot of work went into hyping that match and it could and should have been a launching point for Ziggler. WWE dropped the ball last night.

Sheamus

Sheamus had a good night. He managed to get a convincing win on television to keep him hot, and his promo about no longer smiling was spot on. Sheamus is finally getting the development I have been clamoring for for months.

Sheamus' feud with Big Show was been surprisingly productive. I continually find myself groaning when Show starts a feud only to be pleasantly surprised by the results. Show is easily telling the best stories of his career in the past year or so.

Overall Show

Last night's show was boring. There were the usual highlights found throughout, but they were buried under a pile of monotonous filler.
