Championship Thursday

Ugh. I wasn't a fan of the backstage elimination process when it was a part of Open Fight Night and I wasn't a fan of it here. TNA is telling enough solid stories right now that they don't need these gimmicks, yet half of the shows every month will now be devoted to a shoehorned concept that gets in the way more than it helps.

The first outing for Championship Thursday produced a lackluster main event. The timing between the wrestles was off and the commercial break mid-match murdered the flow. I'm sure we'll get some better editions of this concept in the future, but I am just not a fan of the way the current elimination process is presented.

Bound For Glory Series Wrap Up

The final chapter in the Bound For Glory Series was solid Both of last night's matches were well wrestled and were a great end to a well-handled series this year.

James Storm's promo when he picked Bully Ray as his No Surrender opponent was pitch-perfect. Up until that point in the show TNA really undersold No Surrender, but I'm confident Storm's assertion that he would get revenge on Bully ray from last year's series sold some PPV buys.

Austin Aries and Aces and Eights

What the hell, TNA? Hulk Hogan and Austin Aries both suddenly became sociopaths last night and the announcers acted like their threats of mauling a random guy were perfectly acceptable.

I have been a big fan of the majority of the Aces and Eights angle thus far, but last night's chapter in the story was asinine and made for excruciating television.

Overall Show

Last night's show has some entertaining moments, but it faield to sell me on the No Surrender PPv this Sunday. The show did not feel like a go home affair and it felt lie the TNA writers wrote the segments in separate rooms with o underlying unity to the show like we've seen in the past few months of television.
