Kester's WWE Raw Rundown: CM Punk solidifies his turn, Triple H works up some tears, Daniel Bryan continues his angry tirades, and Kane takes us down memory lane

CM Punk

WWE finally set Punk's turn in stone and Punk went full heel with both his promo work and his in ring style. Even better, Punk had an opportunity to show off his sadistic side with his post-match assault on Jerry Lawler.

I still can't shake the feeling that WWE missed the opportunity to give Punk a hard turn and create a moment. As it stands, Punk will have a lot of hard work ahead of him getting his home town to turn on him just a week after his hard turn when he could have had five weeks' worth of build if WWE had pussyfooted with the turn since Raw 1000.

Triple H

Triple H did well with addressing the fans about his potential retirement. He strayed away from some of the pitfalls he usually falls into with extended promo segments, and he managed to drum up some emotion to show the crowd.

My only real problem with this angle is that it feels like a waste. It really didn't further the story along any and we know it's going to be a few months before we see the next chapter. I would have rather heard some explanation for his coming absence rather than Triple H simply selling the effects of the loss on his confidence.

Daniel Bryan and Kane

I'll admit, I groaned when I first saw the group therapy set up and I dreaded the repeated segments throughout the evening. However, Bryan did better in the later segments and Kane absolutely stole the show with his dry recount of all of the ridiculous storylines he's been through with his career.

Bryan continues to impress me with his angry character. He's a heel the fans get a chance to have fun with by getting under his skin and he manages to wake up even the most tired crowds with an opportunity to jeer him. Bryan has come a long way over the past year or two and he has been consistently entertaining me for moths.

Overall Show

Last night's show dragged. It was stuffed to the brim with filler and WWE continues to flounder with the pacing of their three hour shows. It all led to a great main event that really got Punk over as a heel, but otherwise this show felt like it was rather skippable.
