Kester's WWE Raw Rundown: John Laurinaitis gets the lion's share of TV time despite being fired, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and Kane continue to entertain, and Triple H punched Paul Heyman

John Cena and John Laurinaitis

While I didn't expect WWE to actually keep a fired man off of TV, it was an odd decision to have the freshly canned Laurinaitis character featured in three separate segments on the show. Way to sell your own stipulations, WWE.

I hope beyond hope that WWE has something convincing for Cena to move on to after this storyline. His character has been set right back into the same sad stale state because he never took the threat for Laurinaitis or Show seriously, and WWE is going to have to find a way to make Cena feel fresh if they expect him to headline PPVs with his storylines.

CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and Kane

I'm thrilled to see this storyline continuing. This has been the most entertaining story on WWE television the past month and it's one of the few things that has kept me interested in the product as a whole. WWE may be knee-deep in the WrestleMania hangover, but at least there's a single feud this year that is worth watching.

I really hope that WWE is giving us a red herring with AJ's infatuation with Kane. The few segments with her flirting with or taunting the monster character can be fun, but that will come apart quickly if they actually pair them up on a long term basis.

Triple H and Paul Heyman

Strong promo work from both men last night. Heyman can still draw a ton of heat and Triple H managed to sell Heyman's verbal jabs well.

UI question the wisdom behind Triple H attacking Heyman this early. I would have rather had a few more weeks of taunting before that moment occurred to build up some anticipation from the crowd.

Overall Show

Last night's show felt a lot like No Way Out I the sense that it was just sort of there. There was some good wrestling and a little storyline progression, but for the most part it feels like the WrestleMania hangover has finally hit WWE and they are simply in a holding pattern at this point.
