Kester's WWE Raw Rundown: Kane stalks John Cena and Zack Ryder, Chris Jericho cries, CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler get lost in the shuffle, Miz and R-truth tread water, and the anomaly that is the Funkasaurus makes its debut

Kane and John Cena

Kane continues to frustrate me. He's doing the best he can with a talking monster gimmick, but the act is so cartoonish and campy with the indie horror movie skits that he's quickly lost the edge he had when he made his initial return. He still has a presence every time he makes his entrance, so WWE could salvage his act. Kane just needs a mouthpiece coming to the ring with him while he sticks to body language to get that mysticism back.

John Cena was much more tolerable this week. He finally tapped into his serious, angry Cena mode, and it helped to change the tone of his feud with Kane. Kane's shtick still makes it difficult to take everything they are doing seriously, but it's nice to see Kane's actions actually getting to a normally dismissive Cena.

Chris Jericho

Another week, and not another words spoken. While I believe the people that didn't like last week's return will have nothing to really sink their teeth into with Jericho's over-the-top crying, I am excited to see where this storyline is going.

From everything I have seen, everyone has a strong reaction to what Chris Jericho is doing. WWE needs to make sure to advance this in some way each week, however, as the silent promo will only hold interest of fans for so long before they get annoyed and stop investing in the storyline.

CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler

CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler feel lost in the shuffle, which is a shame. Punk's championship reign isn't getting the attention it deserves, and Ziggler's ascent up the card is getting drowned out by Jericho's return and Kane and John Cena's feud.

Hopefully, we will get to see some added emphasis on this feud in the coming weeks. Both men have been working hard, and John Laurinaitis becomes more entertaining by the week. It's easy for any feud to get lost in the shuffle during the build to the Royal Rumble, but some added emphasis to the WWE Title feud would be to everyone's benefit.

Miz and R-Truth

Miz and Truth continue to flounder for this viewer. Miz has been unconvincing in his new tough guy role, and Truth's crazed promos, while they can be entertaining, are so disjointed and heelish that they don't seem to be clicking with the crowd.

I'm hoping to see the blow off to this feud soon, as the entire thing feels like a retread of their feud over the United Sates Championship a few years back, and both men's acts are so similar to what they were doing as a tag team that it makes it difficult to gain heat. Miz and Truth need some distance with each other and need to do something different to get away from the jobber to the starts status they earned heading into Survivor Series.

Funkasaurus

This was about as polarizing as Jericho's return. After weeks of hyping Brodus Clay as a killer, the big man made his television return clad in a red sweat suit and danced his way through a squash match against Curt Hawkins.

This will no doubt entertain crowd for a few weeks, but I believe the novelty of this new "Funkasaurus" gimmick will run thin quickly. For my money, this is a waste of Brodus Clay's potential. WWE is starved of strong heels, and Brodus Clay had the in-ring ability and the promo skills to work well in that role. Right now it feels like he's going to be wasted as a comedy babyface.

Overall Show

Last night's show was all over the place. They fell into the same trap that TNA did with their go home show last week, where they have no real focus given to any angle. Due to the frantic pace of the show, storylines got lost in the shuffle and I was left wondering what WWE wanted me to be thinking about all next week.
