Kester's WWE Raw Rundown: The Undertaker demands a WrestleMania rematch, CM Punk gives Chris Jericho a taste of his own medicine, Kane continues to stalk Eve, and more

Triple H and The Undertaker

Several people have panned the return to this feud, but for my money it's the only logical move. The seeds were planted for this feud at last year's WrestleMania, and I am thrilled that WWE creative, Triple H, or Undertaker are not just letting that storyline be lost to time.

Triple H's promo did get a bit long in the tooth, but the story he had to tell was an interesting one. The Undertaker video packages were superb, and WWE's production team really stepped up their game. I look forward to seeing what Shawn Michaels brings to the feud next week as his presence in this feud last year was highly entertaining.

Chris Jericho and CM Punk

Chris Jericho has impressed me since his return, but his promo last night went too far in explanation of his actions. I expected some more discipline from him as a storyteller than what we saw on Raw, as his lengthy promo took out any mystery as to why he has returned, and the mystique he created with his silent promos evaporated in that segment.

I still fully expect a high-quality match between CM Punk and Jericho, but after their exchange on Raw, I am left feeling a bit underwhelmed. There's still plenty of time until WrestleMania for them to relight that fire, but Jericho's promo and Punk's silence felt like more of a repeat than a proper progression in their feud.

Kane and John Cena

Speaking as a fan of Kane when he's good, I could not be more ready for his feud with John Cena to end. Kane has meant very little since his return, and every time he opens his mouth for an "embrace the hate" spiel, I mentally check out and groan.

On a show that opened with a very serious, very good video package of Undertaker cutting a promo, seeing Kane trying to mouth-breathe Eve to death highlighted how hokey and cartoonish his character has become since his return.

Daniel Bryan and the Big Show

I like there Daniel Bryan is at. He's playing a different heel than most in the WWE, and the fans are responding to what he's doing. I can certainly understand where some would hope to have him be more dominant, but he has managed to make what WWE has given him into a heat magnet. I fear that he will drop the belt soon, but I hope his hard work is rewarded with his presence in the title picture for the foreseeable future.

Big Show continues to impress me with his work. He's obviously limited in what he can do with Daniel Bryan, but his body language during their entire feud has been phenomenal. I am ready for the blow off, however, and I want to see both men move on to something new.

Overall Show

This week's Raw was a bit of a step back from last week's, but that is to be expected on a show sandwiched between the post-Royal Rumble Raw and the go-home show for Elimination Chamber. Next week's show really needs to ramp up again if WWE hopes to get any buys out of Elimination Chamber.
