The Shield

One of the brightest things about WWE's programming recently, outside of the standard CM Punk promo, is the development of The Shield. I've enjoyed everything the group has done thus far, and last night was no exception.

Ryback getting in some brutal shots with the ladder was needed considering how often The Shield has gotten the best of him. I am hoping that this fledgling group goes over at TLC, and Ryback getting in some early hits is a sign that that is the plan. On a side note, it was odd not having much input from Daniel Bryan and Kane on this show.

John Cena and Dolph Ziggler

I do not care about this story any more than I did last week, in fact the continued saga of John Cena and AJ being flirty or together or whatever is turning me off of the show.

Despite the terrible story involved, Ziggler stands to gain a lot of momentum if WWE pulls the trigger with him. He needs to go over at TLC if they plan to get much mileage out of his eventual cash in. If they have Cena take the briefcase instead, then they will have wasted an opportunity to make a star for their future.

CM Punk

Just a minor note, but WWE really should have played up Punk's injury more than they did. It was barely mentioned on the broadcast and one would think one of the first year-long champions this era would have received some greater fanfare when he is taken out of action with a surgery.

Overall Show

Last night's show was boring. There is simply no better way to put it. There was the usual good match or two, but the marathon sessions of wrestling without any really good content is draining.
