CM Punk and Ryback

CM Punk continues to be the highlight of the show. He's really come into his own as a heel and his act is a large part of what makes WWE television watchable.

WWE is doing well with Ryback. They have begun to make me question if he will be going over on Sunday, which is always a good sign. I still doubt they'd move the title at this point, but it says a lot that WWE has managed to make me question that stance.

John Cena and AJ

I am surprised to see WWE go with this story so soon after Cena's real life divorce and accusations of infidelity. While I appreciate the way it is making the Cena act refreshing, I worry that they are doing that at the expense of some of the character's integrity. It's the same issue I had with the short-lived fling with Cena and Eve earlier in the year.

If there is a positive to glean from this pairing, it's that it gave WWE an excuse to get AJ out of the GM role. I hope this means that AJ can get back to her super-crazy roots as it wasn't long ago that she had the hottest act in wrestling.

Team Hell No and Rhodes Scholars

While the game show segment, outside of some more classic Kane dry humor, was terrible, the rest of the buildup to the tag team championship match at Hell in a Cell was well done. WWE still has a lot of work to do to make the tag division relevant again, but it's nice to see them at least trying.

Overall Show

Another week and another how that felt longer than tit needed to be. WWE is doing damage to themselves with so much programming on a weekly basis when they don't give more attention to the undercard. As it stands watching the show feels like a chore and it has for some time now. There were some entertaining segments sprinkled throughout the show, but they were buried under piles of filler.
