Aces and Eights

Another week and another loss for Aces and Eights. The group is struggling to stay relevant, and while the inclusion of Garett Bischoff and Wes Brisco may help those two establish their heel personas, it did little to help make the group look like they are the threat everyone in TNA is saying they are.

Aces and Eights is quickly approaching the same irrelevance that Immortal had during the latter parts of its run. TNA had an opportunity to make a heel faction that was a forced to be reckoned with, but they have squandered that week after week.

Austin Aries and Bobby Roode

I find myself utterly indifferent about the tag title move. I would normally be happy that the titles were moved off of Chavo and Hernadez as that team has been floundering for months, but I disagree with the idea of tying two of TNA’s top heels up in the tag division.

The execution of the title switch was odd. With the dissent of the team leading to the eventual victory, Aries and Roode have gone from being similar to Kane and Daniel Bryan’s act to looking like a cheap imitation. I don’t understand why this move is necessary, and I feel like TNA is getting less out of this move than they would from having both Aries and Roode continue in a program towards the top of the card.

Bully Ray

Ray continues to do well with the role he’s been given. While there was nothing particularly memorable about his act this week, he remains one of the highlights of TNA television and has consistently been entertaining.

I wish I could say the same for Brooke Hogan. She’s certainly improving, but there were a few moments last night where they either had her trying too hard or simply used her at the wrong time and it interrupted the flow of the show.

Overall Show

Last night was alright. It wasn’t terrible but it was by no means a hot show on the road.
