Dot Net Awards: 2009 Best Tag Team
Feb 27, 2010 - 01:18 PM

Dot Net readers voted on a variety of 2009 awards throughout January and February. We will be revealing the winners throughout the weekend. The following are the poll results of the Best Tag Team category.

(1) Chris Jericho and Big Show: 38 percent
(2) Beer Money: 19 percent
(3) The Miz and John Morrison: 9 percent
(4) Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley: 9 percent
(5) Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase: 7 percent
Others: 18 percent

Rich Twilling's thoughts: This is a one team race and the winners are Chris Jericho and The Big Show. They had a dominant year and really did a great job rebuilding the prestige of the tag team championships. I'm glad Jericho is the World Heavyweight Champion now, but his team with Show was great. I was surprised to see that DX and the Colon Brothers did not crack the list. I'll go with Beer Money second and Kevin Steen and El Generico third. The Colons, Miz and Morrison, Legacy, Team 3D, the Motor City Machine Guns, and the American Wolves all deserve recognition too.

Jason Powell's thoughts: I don't care what anyone says, the best tag team I watched all year was Beer Money. They didn't have as many high profile matches as Jericho and Show, who earned my second place vote, but I don't blame James Storm and Robert Roode for that. Here's hoping TNA showcases the talent they have in Storm and Roode in 2010. There's a big drop after those two teams. Most readers voted for teams from WWE or TNA, but ROH's tag division was loaded with talent such as The American Wolves, The Briscoes, and Kevin Steen and El Generico. Honorable mention goes to The Young Bucks, who are now working as Generation Me in TNA. Here's hoping WWE finally decides to do something with The Hart Dynasty in 2010.
