10/11 WWE in Huntington, W. Va.: C.M. Punk vs. Rey Mysterio, John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Title, Abraham Washington takes the show on the road
Oct 12, 2009 - 10:03 AM

WWE Smackdown/ECW house show
Huntington, W. Va.
Report by Dot Net reader Tim Delong

1. Cryme Tyme beat The Hart Dynasty (w/Natalya).

Abraham Washington show with Rey Mysterio and C.M. Punk. Why in the world did they have the Abraham Washington Show? Everybody was yelling for the show to be done and get back to the wrestling. I was one of those people. Abe insulted the crowd before he brought out Mysterio, who he also insulted on the microphone.

2. R-Truth over Drew McIntyre. During R-Truth's entance, somebody from the crowd yelled "You can't rap." Funny.

3. Eve and Melina defeated The Bella Twins. During the Diva's Tag match, the Bella Twins started acting like heels. Some foreshadowing, maybe.

4. Sheamus def. Shelton Benjamin.

5. John Morrison defeated Dolph "Mr. Ziggles" Ziggler to retain the Intercontinental Title. Match of the Night 1. Dolph Ziggler had great heat with the people when he came out for his match. People started yelling "Mr. Ziggles" (me included). He couldn't even introduce himself before the match. The crowd would not let him say anything at all before the match. When John Morrison came out for the match, he was the one that introduced Ziggler as "MR. ZIGGLES" Hilarious! By the way, the first Match of the Night, as noted above in the results.

Intermission. Right before intermission, Tony Chimel brought two kids into the ring (Shawn and Bradley). They threw a couple of t-shirts into the crowd. I didn't catch one. (I had bought mine when I got inside the arena).

6. "Big Red Machine" Kane defeated Matt Hardy. Kane is one big guy in person.

7. Hurricane, Tommy Dreamer, and ECW Champion Christian beat William Regal, Vladimir Kozlov, and Ezekiel. Before the 6-man tag officially started, Christian was playing the "Yeah/Boo" game where any time that he raised his hands, everybody cheered and every time that he pointed to Regal, everybody started to boo. At one point during the match, The Hurricane tried to pick up and slam Ezekiel Jackson but he couldn't do it. Funny. After the unsuccessful attempt, he went over and tagged in Tommy Dreamer. It was a good match as the semi-main event.

8. Rey Mysterio defeated C.M. Punk. Match of the Night 2. As Punk was taking off his shirt before the match started, Mysterio attacked him. After a couple of minutes, Punk removed his shirt. At one point during the match, Punk managed to take Rey's mask off. WTF. Mysterio eventually rolled out of the ring and under it to put his mask back on and the match continued.

At one other point during the match, Punk did his best Rick Rude impression. He wasn't even close. I yelled out "You're no Rick Rude." Funny. After the match, Mysterio went around ringside signing stuff. I didn't have any luck, though. I came close to getting his autograph, but no such luck. Close but no cigar, as the saying goes. During the show, Rey Mysterio and C.M. Punk started to fight, ending with Punk hitting the Go-To-Sleep on Mysterio.

Notes Me and my three friends (Melvin, Brian, and D.) were sitting in Sec. D/Row 5/Seats 8-11. I was originally supposed to sit in Seat 9, but they was gracious enough to let me sit in Seat 11, the one closest to the railing since it was my birthday. The events started with the national anthem. Before I found my seat, I went straight to the merchandise stand.

I ended up buying a t-shirt($25), 3 programs-Superstars program($15) - 1 for a friend(he gave me the money for his program so he could go to his seat),1 for me and a Summerslam 2009 program($10), a John Cena autographed copy of 12 Rounds (couldn't remember the price), a Rey Mysterio autographed photo ($25) and after the show a Rey Mysterio mask.($60). I was making up for the Raw live event show from Wheeling,WV because I did not buy a single thing at the show. (Hard to believe, huh)

Savanah was the host for the show. According to Tony Chimel, she is the newest addition to the ECW roster. Charles "Little Naitch" Robinson was one of the two referees. I didn't know the name of the other referee. Around this time, I was warned by one of the security guards to watch my language because there was kids nearby. What a joy killer.

Best Cheers

1. Rey Mysterio
2. John Morrison

Most Heat

1. C.M. Punk
2. Dolph "Mr. Ziggles" Ziggler
