9/5 WWE Raw in St. Paul, Minn.: Triple H faces Legacy on his own, John Cena challenges Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, Mickie James and Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix and Rosa Mendes, Evan Bourne vs. Chavo Guerrero
Sep 6, 2009 - 01:22 PM

WWE Raw house show
St. Paul, Minn. at Xcel Energy Center
Report by Dot Net Member Chris Ketchmark of Sandstone, Minn.

Attendace roughlly 6-7,000 with the lower bowl and floor seats about 4/5 full.

1. Evan Bourne over Chavo Guerrerro. Bourne won via pinfall after the shooting star press in 14 minutes. Hornswoggle interfered leading to the finish. Good match.

2. Chris Masters over Alex Riley. Masters won with the Masterlock submission in 11 minutes. Both guys worked hard but there was no heat.

3. Sheamus over Santino Marella. Sheamus won via pinfall after a chokeslam in 11 minutes. Lots of comedy from Santino.

4. Mickie James and Gail Kim over Beth Phoenix and Rosa Mendes in 12 minutes. James pinned Mendes after a top rope Thesz press like move.

5. Kofi Kingston over MVP and The Miz in a triple threat match to retain the U.S. Title in 15 minutes. Kingston pinned The Miz following a Jamaican Buzzsaw. Very Good match. Miz did some great heat inducing mic work prior to the match.

6. Mark Henry over Jack Swagger in nine minutes. Swagger won by pinfall after a Samoan Drop. Although the worst match of the night, it wasn't that bad.

7. Triple H over Legacy (Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes) in a 16-minute handicap match. Hunter hit the Pedigree on Rhodes after a chairshot and throwing DiBiase out of the ring. Very good match. The heels left HHH lying after the match.

8. John Cena over Randy Orton by DQ in 20 minutes. Excellent Match. Cena had Orton in the STF when Legacy interfered for the DQ. HHH made the save and as Orton fled, HHH hit the Pedigree and Cena hit the Attitude Adjuster on Legacy. After the match HHH spent several minutes shaking hands with fans down both sides of the aisle and around ringside. Cena also did some of this but HHH went out of his way to show appreciation, very classy.

Notes: The WWE roster is very athletic. All wrestlers worked hard and there was no bad match. The show went 3 hours with a ten minute intermission. Lots of DX and Cena merchandise looked to be selling.

Most heat: Faces: HHH, Cena, Santino Heels: Orton, Miz, Chavo
