8/7 WWE Supershow in Denver: C.M. Punk injured during a ladder match with Jeff Hardy for the World Hvt. Championship, plus Randy Orton vs. Triple H in a steel cage match for the WWE Title
Aug 8, 2009 - 10:11 AM

WWE Supershow
Denver, Colo. at the Denver Coliseum
Report by Dot Net reader Aaron Wells

Not exactly a sellout. There were a few empty seats in the rafters but the place was pretty packed lots of kids wearing Cena and Hardy shirts. No surprise there.

1. Christian pinned Tommy Dreamer in an Extreme Rules match to retain the ECW Title. A basic hardcore match. Chrisitian pinned Dreamer via the Killswitch

2. Evan Bourne defeated Chavo Guerrero. Pretty good match. Bourne pinned Chavo via Shooting Star Press after interference from Hornswoggle.

3. Jamie Noble pinned Alex Riley. OK match. Riley cut a heel-type promo before the match. Nobel pinned Riley via Roll-up

4. Big Show over Mark Henry. An okay match. Show pinned Henry via the knockout punch after slamming Henry against an exposed turnbuckle. These guys are huge in person

5. Jack Swagger pinned Primo. A good match. My friend and I got some dirty looks for cheering Swagger, which was funny. Swagger pinned Primo via Gutwremch Powerbomb

6. Jeff Hardy defeated CM Punk in a ladder match to retain the World Hvt. Championship. A great match lots of big spots in this one. On a side note, apparently Punk got the wind knocked out of him at the end of the match because he didn't move for nearly 10 minutes afterward and had to be carried out.

7. Kofi Kingston beat MVP and Carlito in a Triple Threat match to retain the U.S. Title.

8. Gail Kim and Mickie James defeated Beth Phoenix and Rosa Mendez. A basic diva match nothing more.

9. Randy Orton defeated Triple H in a steel cage match to retain the WWE Title. A good match. Orton won via escape after Legacy interfered. HHH hit Cody with a chair and Pedigreed him on it to end the show. On a side note, my friend caught HHH's water bottle after it hit me on the head which was cool.
