6/20 WWE Raw in Moline, Ill.: John Cena and Triple H vs. Big Show and Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston vs. Matt Hardy vs. MVP for the U.S. Title, Goldust vs. The Miz, Santino Marella vs. The Brian Kendrick
Jun 21, 2009 - 09:08 AM |
WWE Raw house show
Moline, Ill.
Report by Dot Net reader Andrew Quick
1. Santino Marella defeated The Brian Kendrick. Santino won via a rollup in a short match.
2. Shamus beat Jamie Noble by a powerslam of some sort. As previously reported, that Shamus guy is a big Irish dude that will be nice to see on TV sometime soon. Shamus got some serious heat for talking about the United States.
The Miz came out and talked about Quad Cities and how we are disrespectful, etc. He talked about how he beat the hell out of Goldust and Hornswoggle.
3. The Miz def Goldust in a long match with the Reality Check. Miz gave Hornswoggle a dropkick out of the ring.
4. Kofi Kingston beat Matt Hardy and MVP in a triple threat match to retain the US Title. Long match but good action. People were surprisingly into Matt Hardy but the same for MVP and Kofi. Trobule in Paradise finished it.
5. The Colons over Priceless via DQ after a chair shot. A really good match. These guys work really well together and here's looking forward to a nice feud because it could make for some good matches on Raw.
6. Mickie James defeated Maryse in an alright divas match. It seemed like it was more of a fill in match than anything. Kelly Kelly would of been a better replacement for Mickie in my opinion.
7. John Cena and Triple H beat Big Show and Randy Orton. A good match that the entire crowd was into. Probably 15 minutes long if not a bit more. All the usual tag team stuff with Cena waiting for a tag for most of the match. Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment on Big Show, and Triple H hit the pedigree for the win. They celebrated in the ring for a while and got the fans riled up. They gave high fives all around the front rows.
Notes: Good overall show, at least for a house show. I give it a 8/10. Full floor and 95 percent of lower bowl and probably 500 people in the upper bowl. There were maybe 6,000 to 7,000 people in attendance.
Biggest pops:
Cena
HHH
Kofi/Hornswoggle/Mickie tie
Heat:
Miz
Shamus (promo)
Orton
