WWE Raw live event
Nottingham, England
Report by Dot Net reader Rich Dean

1. Kofi Kingston and R-Truth beat Primo and Epico in a non-title match. 11 minutes; 2 1/2 stars

2. Beth Phoenix beat Kelly Kelly to retain the WWE Divas Championship. Nine minutes; 1 1/2 stars. Following the match there was a beatdown between Eve - the special guest referee - and Kelly Kelly.

3. Lord Tensai beat Alex Riley. 3 minutes; 1 star. The match was 'stopped' by the referee.

4. Santino Marella beat The Miz and David Otunga in a Triple Threat to retain the U.S. Title. 9 minutes; 1 1/2 stars. A well-received heel promo from Miz pre-match.

Intermission

5. Brodus Clay beat JTG. 3 minutes; 1 1/2 stars. Following the match, several youngsters were invited to dance with Brodus and his dancers.

6. John Cena and Zack Ryder beat Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler. 14 minutes; 2 stars.

7. CM Punk beat Chris Jericho to retain the WWE Championship. 19 minutes; 3 stars. Comedic end to the show. Following Punk's victory, out came Cena, Ryder, Ziggler, and Swagger to celebrate Vickie Guerrero's birthday. They did so by CM Punk pushing a large chocolate cake into her face, and for a long time!! She then posed in centr ring with Cena and Punk 'breaking kayfabe' to a large ovation and a 'whole crowd' rendition of Happy Birthday. Vickie clearly did not know this was going to happen and appeared genuinely touched that this little episode elicited the reaction it did. Actually a nice way to end a so-so show.

Summary: A formulaic WWE show which largely felt like a paint-by-numbers exercise. The first half was particularly flat. The wrestling was decidedly loose, and matches were more rushed than constructed. The second half was when the atmosphere picked up, albeit as a result of star power more than the quality of the action. Its clear that CM Punk puts forth great effort for any show that he is on, and this showed up again here. About 68mins of wrestling in what was a 150min show including intermission. Overall Ive seen far better WWE house shows.

Biggest Pops-
1. John Cena
2. C.M. Punk

Most Heat
1. Miz
2. Chris Jericho
