12/10 WWE SuperShow: Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett in a Street Fight, Dolph Ziggler vs. Alex Riley for the U.S. Title, C.M. Punk vs. John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio for the WWE Championship, Beth Phoenix vs. Eve
Dec 12, 2011 - 09:45 AM |
WWE SuperShow live event
North Charleston, S.C. at the North Charleston Coliseum
Report by Dot Net reader Charles Creech
The building was roughly half full.
1. Air Boom defeated Michael McGillicuty and David Otunga to retain the WWE Tag Titles. Decent match with Evan being worked on for most of the match before the hot tag, which led to Kofi hitting the Trouble in Paradise followed by Evan's Airbourne on McGillicutty for the win.
2. Justin Gabriel beat Heath Slater by pinfall. The crowd was dead for this match. They tried to get them going but it just wasn't to be. Gabriel won with a rolling powerbomb off the top rope.
3. Alex Riley beat Dolph Ziggler by DQ in a U.S. Title match. For the early apart of the match, dolph was keeping it slow with kicks and punches with very little big moves. The pace started picking up and riley hit Ziggler with a spinebuster. Before a three count could be made, Jack Swagger ran out and broke up the pin, causing a DQ. They start to double team Riley, but Mason Ryan came out and broke it up. Riley talked Dolph and Swagger into a tag match.
4. Mason Ryan and Alex Riley beat Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger. Ryan pinned Swagger with the full nelson slam.
5. Randy Orton beat Wade Barrett in a street fight. They started off in the ring, but eventually wound up brawling in the crowd and the entrance area. They hit each other with kendo sticks and a steel chair a couple of times before Barrett attempted Wasteland only to be reversed into an RKO by orton for the three count. Pretty good brawl that the crowd really got into.
Intermission.
6. Beth Phoenix (w/Natalya) beat Eve to retain the WWE Divas Title. Beth won with a Glam Slam.
7. Cody Rhodes beat Ted DiBiase to retain the Intercontinental Title. Cody came out talking down about North Charleston and how things may be good...but its only North Charleston good. Ted came out and they fought in and out of the ring. Cody hit his kick and finisher for the win. Pretty good match and the crowd got behind ted.
8. C.M. Punk beat Alberto Del Rio and John Cena in a Triple Threat to retain the WWE Championship. To start off with, Punk stole Del Rio's scarf and put it on himself and was posing with it and doing the Karate Kid kick pose with it. Pretty hilarious. The match was pretty hectic with their generally always being someone outside while two fight. Del Rio put his armbar on both Cena and Punk. Everyone hit their signature spots. Punk knocked Cena outside and Del Rio attacked Punk. Punk reversed the armbar into a GTS for the win. Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment on Ricardo Rodriguez afterwards and Punk bowed to the crowd and left.
Overall a pretty fun experience. My wife and I had a lot of fun.
Most Cheers
1. John Cena
2. C.M. Punk and Randy Orton (tie)
3. Alberto Del Rio (surprisingly)
Most Heat
1. Wade Barrett
2. Cody Rhodes
3. Dolph Ziggler
