Dot Net Reader Melanie attended the WWE Smackdown house show in Nimes, France on September 1 and sent along the following report.

The Arenas of Nîmes was built in 60 A.D for gladiators, so they made a Gladiator Battle Royale.

1. Christian won a Gladiator Battle Royale, to face Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship. Participants: Daniel Bryan, Brodus Clay, The Usos, Yoshi Tatsu, Wade Barrett, Christian, Heath Slater, Ezekiel Jackson, Cody Rhodes, the Great Khali, Jinder Mahal, Sheamus, Sin Cara, Tyson Kidd. The last two were Christian and Daniel Bryan. Christian took the mic and said he will be world champion for the third time tonight. People booed him so he said he will come back to the U.S.A. with the belt and we will never see him again.

2. Alicia Fox defeated Natalya. Alicia won when she countered the sharpshooter.

3. Jinder Mahal (w/Great Khali) defeated Ezekiel Jackson. Khali distracted Zeke and Mahal got the pin. Post-match, Mahal took the mic and said he was a future world heavyweight champion.

4. Sin Cara defeated Tyson Kidd. I don't know the name of the finisher, he jumped from the top rope.

5. Sheamus defeated Wade Barrett. Sheamus won with the Brogue Kick. Big ovation for Sheamus

Intermission

6. Ted DiBiase defeated Cody Rhodes by disqualification in a Intercontinental Title match. Cody arrived first with a bag and the certificate of mediocrity for Ted. He says that Ted is as mediocre as the Olympic of Marseille, which is a big football team in the South of France. Of course people booed him.
DiBiase won by DQ after Cody removed his mask and struck Ted in the head with. After the match he continued to attack Ted, but Ted was stronger.

7. Mark Henry defeated Daniel Bryan. Henry won with the world's strongest slam.

8. Randy Orton defeated Christian to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. Very big ovation for Orton. People chanted "RKO" for Orton and "you suck" for Christian. Christian took the mic and said "Do you know what 'you suck' mean in English? SHUT UP!" Christian hit the kill switch but Orton kicked out at two. Christian jumped for the third rope and Orton hit the RKO in the air for the win.

Other Thoughts
-Randy Orton and Sheamus had French flags.

-The show was really great. We miss the French commentators because without commentators, there was less rhythm.
