WWE Raw Live Event
Newark, N.J. at Prudential Center
Report by Chris

The first thing I have to say is the prudential center is amazing. There is not one bad seat in the building. My seat was right on top of the entrance. I'd say about 2,000-3,000 were in attendance, lots of kids as expected but it was not a sellout.

1. John Morrison defeated Ted DiBiase. Morrison is very over to start the night . Another thing is DiBiase's theme music is the worst theme song i have ever heard. DiBiase did a lot of stalling before the match got started and he gained tons of heat.  The kids were all over him. Basic match with a couple of nearfalls at the end. The match ended when Morrison hit the Flying Chuck and then the Starship Pain for the win in about eight minutes.

After the match, Dolph Ziggler did a run in and beat down Morrison and hit him with the Zig Zag. After Ziggler left, he came back down and hit Morrison with another Zig Zag.

2. Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov (w/Tamina) defeated Zack Ryder and Primo. There were your usual comedy antics with Santino teasing The Cobra until Ryder and Primo got the upper hand. Santino eventually got the hot tag to Kozlov and hit The Cobra on Primo after Tamina hit a back body drop on Ryder outside the ring for the win in about seven minutes.

After the match, Ryder demanded the mic and said he was not going to lose in Jersey of all places. He said his mom was in the crowd tonight and he wanted another match and he said  was gonna win it for her. The Raw gm chimed in and said if you want another match you will get one.

3. The Great Khali defeated Zack Ryder. About a 20 second squash match. Thank God that match was quick, but for some reason the crowd popped hard for Khali's entrance. Then I remembered the crowd was full of 7-12 year olds.

4. Daniel Bryan beat Tyson Kidd. Kidd was doing tons of stalling before the match and got a lot of heat for it. The match was very good with a lot of chain wrestling. I don't know why they don't give Kidd more time on Raw because he looked really good tonight. Bryan put Kidd in the Lebell Lock for the win at about 11 minutes.

Vickie Guerreo came out to some of the best heat I've ever heard. I would tell you what she said but I couldn't hear one word she said the whole time she was on the mic. She came out to introduce Dolph Ziggler.

5. Evan Bourne beat Dolph Ziggler by DQ. This was another good match. Ziggler carried himself like a champion without the belt with the way he carried himself the whole match and how he generated heat. The match ended in a DQ after Vickie tripped up Bourne when he went for the Airbourne. After the match, Ziggler got a steel chair and threatened to hit evan with it until John Morrison came out to return the favor for the earlier beatdown. Morrison set up Ziggler so Bourne could finally hit Airbourne, and the kids went crazy for it. Ziggler looked like he legit got the wind knocked out of him, as he was down for about five minutes. You could see that they were trying to get him up so they could get the cage set up. They ended up bringing the trainer out.

They then began to start setting up the cage match for the next match

6. The Miz beat Randy Orton in a cage match to retain the WWE Championship. Miz cut a promo saying that he was stuck in traffic for three hours in the Holland Tunnel to see us and this is how we show him respect. It was your basic match featuring these two that we have seen multiple times except they rammed each other into the cage a couple of times and climbed it.

The match ended when Randy and The Miz were fighting on top of the cage when Alex Riley came through the crowd, pulled Randy back down to the ring, and The Miz's feet hit the floor for the win in about 15 minutes. After the match, Miz and Riley beat down Orton until he hulked up and hit RKO's on both of them. Randy made sure he shook hands with everybody at ringside.

To waste time to take down the cage down, they had R-Truth come out through the crowd and pump the crowd up and to host a dance off with four contestants. The winner won tickets to the the next WWE event in New Jersey.

7. Eve and Kelly Kelly and Gail Kim beat Maryse and The Bella Twins. I really had no interest in this match, but Eve won it with her finisher.

8. Triple H and John Cena defeated C.M. Punk and Sheamus. The match went about 20 minutes and the crowd went bananas for Cena's entrance, but they went even crazier when Triple H came out. I think that was due to most kids not believing Triple H would be there. The match was a very good with Triple H and cena both taking beatdowns and getting the hot tag.

The building was shaking when Triple H tagged in Cena. The finish was Cena and Triple H hitting both The Pedigree and the Attitude Adjustment on both Punk and Sheamus for the win to send the crowd home happy.

Notes: This was the best live event I've been to wrestling wise and the main reason i wanted to see the show was just for Triple H due to all of the talk of him retiring soon.

Biggest Pops

John Cena: Hands down all of the kids and there families paid to see him.

Triple H: I think people were more surprised to see him. I guess a lot of people don't read the advertised lineup these days.

A tie between Randy Orton and John Morrison, honorable mention has to go to Santino, as people really love The Cobra.

Most Heat

Without question it was Vickie Guerrero. When nobody can hear a single world you said from your two min promo, you know that she doing her job well.

The Miz: His heat could have been louder it a lot of us didn't go out to the concession stand when they were setting up the cage, but he got a lot of it back when he trashed Jersey in his promo before the match.

Dolph Ziggler: For his post match beatdown on John Morrison and for his alliance with Vickie.

On a side note, if you have never seen C.M. Punk at a live event, you are missing out. He was constantly trying to start altercations at ringside with fans and there was this one bit where as John Cena was running down the aisle after doing his salute, Punk tried to grab Cena right before he dived in the ring. It looked very Tom and Jerry -ish and very funny.
