11/13 WWE Smackdown in Mannheim, Germany: Bret Hart teams with Hart Dynasty to face The Nexus, fans cheer Chavo Guerrero as he wrestles on the anniversary of Eddie Guerrero's death
Nov 15, 2010 - 12:32 PM

WWE Live Event
Manheim, Germany
Report by Dot Net reader Marcel Bock

I had a fourth row ticket at the entrance and saw the show alongside my brother. This was my eighth WWE house show, which means I knew what to expect.

1. MVP defeated Tyler Reks. A good opener. MVP with huge pops and his new theme which, by the way, rocks. Tyler Reks didn't get much heat reaction because the audience barely knew him. Anyway, he saw my 'Who are you?' sign and ripped it up, which was pretty cool. MVP won the match with his boot to the head.

2. Finlay defeated Drew McIntyre. A few people chanted "welcome back" because we haven't seen Finlay on TV for months. The match was quite good. Finlay won with a Shillelagh shot. By the way, Drew McIntyre's theme is live even better. After the match, Finlay celebrated with my German flag in the ring.

3. Dolph Ziggler defeated "Dashing" Cody Rhodes, Kofi Kingston, and Kaval in a four-way to retain the Intercontinental Title. This was the second best match of the night. I love Cody's 'dashing' gimmick. It's pretty funny to see him live. He reacted on my 'More Dashing Than Cody' sign and told me that he is much more dashing than I am, yada-yada-yada... The match ended after Cody hit the Cross Rhodes on Kaval, Kofi hit the Trouble in Paradise on Cody, and Dolph hit the Zig Zag on Kofi.

4. Chris Masters defeated Chavo Guerrero. First of all, the show took place on November 13, 2010, meaning it was the 5th anniversary of the death of Eddie Guerrero. Chavo wore his EG wristband. There were also a lot Eddie chants during that match. Chavo didn't act like a heel and the crowd didn't want to boo him on Eddie's anniversary. He did the Tres Amigos and the Frogsplash but missed it. Masters won with the Masterlock.

5. Bret Hart and The Hart Dynasty defeated The Nexus (David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, and Husky Harris). Bret Hart was advertised for this Germany tour, but honestly I didn't expect him to step in the ring. Bret Hart received the largest pops of the night when he came to the ring. I don't know why Heath Slater wasn't in Mannheim, he wrestled the day before in Cologne, Germany. During the entire match, the crowd wanted to see Bret in the ring. Finally, when Tyson Kidd tagged him in, the arena went insane. The match ended with Justin Gabriel tapping out in Bret's Sharpshooter. After the match the Harts celebrated with the fans.

After the intermission Tony Chimel announced a few players from the hometown ice hockey team Adler Mannheim. They were supposed to be the judges of the following dance contest between Kelly Kelly and Layla. The two divas came to the ring while Kelly Kelly wore a Adler Mannheim Jersey. After both danced, the audience and the players of Adler Mannheim elected Kelly Kelly as winner.

6. Natalya defeated Layla with Kelly Kelly as special referee. The match was technically very good. I enjoyed it. Layla tried to attack Natalya after the match but Kelly Kelly made the safe. My personal highlight of the show was when Kelly Kelly saw my 'Kelly <3' sign and gave me a hug and a kiss.

7. Edge and Rey Mysterio defeated Alberto Del Rio and Jack Swagger (w/ Swagger Soaring Eagle).. This was the match of the night. It was a quick match with a little bit comedy at the beginning. The match ended with the 619 and the Spear on either Del Rio or Swagger (I can't remember). After the match, we saw another 619 and another Spear against the Swagger Soaring Eagle. After Edge and Rey Mysterio cleared the ring, Rey took a mic and said a few worlds about Eddie Guerrero.

8. Kane vs. Big Show for the World Hvt. Championship ended in a draw after Nexus interfered. Honestly, the match was not very good. It started good with a huge staredown between the two giants. But all in all it was just too slow and... actually that's everything I have to say about that match. The match ended with an interference by Nexus.

A few seconds later, the entire heel locker room came out to help Nexus beating down The Big Show. The entire face locker room (except for Edge and Bret Hart) came out to help Big Show. The faces won that brawl and threw the heels out of the ring except for Otunga. After that Otunga was hit by several finishers. I can't remember them all but the last one was Big Show's Knockout Punch. The faces celebrated inside and outside the ring with the fans.

All in all it was an entertaining show and I'm really looking forward to the WrestleMania Revenge Tour in Germany in April next year. I can also mention that wrestler from a European promotion called ACW (Athletik Club Wrestling) spread flyers before the show for their biggest event of the year called, 'ACW Wild Christmas' in Weinheim, Germany (which is next to Mannheim) on December 4, 2010. The guys were very friendly and I think I'm going to attend the Wild Christmas show.
