8/18 WWE Raw in Honolulu, Hawaii: John Cena vs. Wade Barrett, Sheamus vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship, Hart Dynasty vs. David Otunga and Skip Sheffield
Aug 19, 2010 - 12:40 PM

WWE Raw house show
Honolulu, Hawaii at the Blaisdell Arena
Report by Dot Net reader Reid Shimizu

1. Evan Bourne defeated Ted DiBiase. A solid, fast paced opener with good work by both wrestlers tonight. Bourne was very over with the Hawaii fans and his Shooting Star Press is very cool to see live, especially if you're sitting ringside.

Goldust came out for the next match but it never got started as he got ambushed by Nexus members, David Otunga and Skip Sheffield. The Nexus duo then demanded a tag team title match only to have their request shot down by the mystery RAW GM via announcer Justin Roberts' blackberry. Instead the GM, who must have been in the arena and ordered Nexus to meet the Hart Dynasty and if Nexus won, they would receive a future title shot.

2. David Otunga and Skip Sheffield defeated The Hart Dynasty. Finish came when Tyson Kidd attempted a springboard jump and was nailed with a lariat clothesline by Sheffield. After the match Sheffield laid face down in the ring with an apparent leg injury. He was unable to put any weight on his left leg and had to be helped out of the ring. Not sure when the injury occured but hopefully Sheffield will be okay.

3. The Miz defeated Mark Henry. Miz did a great...No, an awesome job of riling up the crowd with his mic work. Lots of stalling early on with Miz playing to role of cowardly heel. Miz pinned Henry after reversing a World's Strongest Slam attempt into a DDT.

4. Randy Orton defeated Sheamus by disqualification. Orton was over big time in Honolulu and both men put on a solid hard hitting match. Orton was setting up for the RKO when Sheamus shoved the referee causing the DQ. An irate Orton hit an RKO on Sheamus anyway laying out the champ.

The Miz then ran down and attempted to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase but was nailed with an RKO before anything could happen.

5. Eve Torres and The Bella Twins defeated Alicia Fox, Maryse, and Jillian Hall. The Divas came out dressed in swimsuits and summer wear and for a while this match was anything but PG. Jillian rubbed one of the Bellas' face into her cleavage. Later the face Divas attempted to rip off the heel Divas shorts. The Bellas used water guns to chase Maryse and Hall out of the ring allowing Eve to pin Fox following a DDT.

6. Chris Jericho defeated Yoshi Tatsu. Every time Jericho comes to Hawaii, he's greeted with chants of "Mahu". Mahu is local slang for a transvestite and Jericho played along as usual to the crowds' enjoyment. It never gets old and Jericho seems to enjoy the interaction with the fans.
A good match but nobody in the arena gave Tatsu a shot of winning this one. Jericho finished him off following the Code Breaker.

7. John Cena defeated Wade Barrett. Prior to the start of the match, the mystery GM changed the Main Event into a No Disqualification bout. Both men put on a solid match with a steel chair and the ring steps coming into play.

After Cena hit Barrett with the Attitude Adjustment, David Otunga ran down to break up the pin. Barrett held Cena but Otunga ended up nailing his Nexus leader instead. Randy Orton then slid into the ring and hit an RKO on Otunga. Meanwhile Cena forced Barrett to tap out with the STF.

Following the match, Orton and Cena shook hands and celebrated in the ring. After Orton left, Cena made his way around ringside shaking hands and signed a few autographs. My friends and I were sitting ringside for the first time ever and one of my friends who happens to be a big time Cena mark, got to shake his hand and went nuts.
