3/19 WWE Raw in El Paso: John Cena and Mark Henry vs. Big Show and Sheamus, Chavo Guerrero works as a babyface, Vickie Guerrero makes a rare house show appearance, The Miz vs. MVP vs. Evan Bourne vs. Christian
Mar 20, 2010 - 07:19 PM

WWE Raw house show
El Paso, Texas
Report by Dot Net reader Isaac Hernandez

1. Kofi Kingston beat Ted DiBiase to an apparent DQ. Kofi didn't have a partner, so it was determined that Kofi would face Ted in a singles match. About two minutes into the match, Kofi ended up outside and the ref caught Cody beating up Kofi. I don't know if a DQ was ever announced but Chavo came out, nice pop. Legacy challenged them to a tag match.

2. Kofi Kingston and Chavo Guerrero defeated Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes. Kofi hit trouble in paradise and tagged Chavo, who hit the frog splash for the win. After the match, Chavo talked about how he used to sell programs and tear tickets at house shows in El Paso. He said the fans knew who he was doing that with. The "Eddie" chant was not what I expected. I think the young crowd is already in the dark as to who Eddie was. Sad. Chavo said he has asked why WWE doesn't come to El Paso and was told the fans won't show up. Chavo said it looked like they showed up (tickets sold out first day, but it's a small arena).

3. Carlito defeated Primo. Carlito hit the Backstabber for the win.

Chris Masters said he was there for the mamacitas. Funny. He did his usual Master Lock challenge lines and then William Regal came out. Regal said he would be a fool to take the challenge but instead challenged Masters to a grappling match. A weak USA chant broke out. Regal asked if that was the best they could come up with. He ended up popping Masters with the mic and i guess the match started.

3. Chris Masters defeated William Regal. Masters was in the corner and jumped out of the way, causing Regal to hit the turnbuckle face first. Masters used the Master Lock for the win. After the match, Regal said he was never coming back.

Intermission

The sound system didn't work for Santino's special guest referee entrance or for the two Diva teams. Vickie Guerrero stood on the ramp did her usual "excuse me" line and got some big heat. She said since this was her hometown, she would be the referee and told Santino to sit outside. I actually saw her at Wal-Mart once, but I was a little star struck. She was on the phone so I didn't approach her.

4. Kelly Kelly, Gail Kim, and Eve defeated Maryse, Alicia Fox, and Jillian Hall. The match was really boring and I went to buy a coke. I came back and Santino came back into the ring to make a slow count for Jillian. Kelly reversed it into her own pin. Santino took over for Vickie and made a fast count for the win. The music was back on for the babyface Divas and eventually for Santino.

5. The Miz defeated Evan Bourne, Christian, and MVP in a Fatal Four-way to retain the U.S. Title. Miz came out first and was great. He said we better not boo him because we didn't know what he went through to get there. He woke up at four to catch a plane to perform for us...at a barn (the arena is pathetic, especially compared to where they will be next Sunday).

Before the match, Christian raised his arm to an okay pop and then pointed to Miz, who was booed. Christian pointed to the other faces and then back to Miz. He shrugged as Miz was booed again. Good match. Bourne hit his shooting star on MVP and then Miz threw out Bourne, and pinned MVP for the win. After the match, MVP was hugging Bourne. I don't get why you would hug the guy that just splashed you and caused you to get pinned.

6. John Cena and Mark Henry defeated Big Show and Sheamus. Really? Mark Henry in the main event? My son loves Cena, so that was cool, but damn it was sad to see Henry and Big Show in there together. Cena hit the FU/Attitude Adjustment for the win on Big Show. I was surprised. I didn't think they would risk an injury on Cena right before WM26 and I thought for sure Sheamus was getting the move.

The main event was so pathetic. Hornswoggle came out from under the ring and Big show ignored him. Hornswoggle did a weird ass Sweet Chin Music to Big Show's calf. Show sold it and when he turned around Cena hit the finisher. The three babyfaces celebrated. Hornswoggle posed like Cena and Henry, then did a celebratory heel kick which he convinced Cena and eventually Henry to do. God that was dumb.

They got the fans to yell by section and left in the ring Cena last. A few girls jumped the rail to hug Cena. His giant female security guard was ready to give the first girl a shoulder tackle from hell, but Cena stopped her. God, I wish he hadn't. The show was pretty bad except for Miz, and my son getting pumped for Cena.
