WWE Raw live event
San Angelo, Texas
Report by Dot Net reader Jared Alexander.

The Miz came out to get the crowd fired up. He spoke about how he was going to become the WWE champion. R-Truth came out of the crowd and attacked Miz. David Otunga made an appearance and told Truth he had to leave. A lot of heat for Miz and Otunga off the bat.

1. Beth Phoenix defeated Eve to retain the WWE Divas Championship with Santino Marella as special referee. The Bella Twins were ring announcers and bell ringers. Santino added a lot of comedy throughout the match. I'm pretty sure WWE had a guy planted in the front row to help get the crowd going. He was pretty funny to watch. Why can't I get a job like that?? Eve had the match won after the moonsault off the top but Santino got distracted by the Bella twins and Beth got the win with the glam slam. Otunga came out after the match and told Santino he was never allowed to referee again. Otunga dropped Santino at the end.

2. Alex Riley and Mason Riley defeated Antonio Cesaro and Michael McGillicuty. The crowd went dead for this match. Interesting story...A screwdriver from under the ring curtain came flying out violently right at me after A-Ry went into the turnbuckle. I'm serious, it was two inches from hitting me in the arm. I gave the screwdriver to one of the security guards and they fixed it after the match. Ryan and Riley got the win.

3. Zach Ryder beat Jack Swagger to retain the U.S. Title. Huge pop for Ryder. Decent heat for Swagger. Ryder won with the Rough Ryder.

The lights went out and Chris Jericho appeared under the set in the same lighted jacket from Monday. He walked around the ring a few times and played to the crowd. He still never said a word. Just when he was about to speak, David Otunga came out and told him he wasn't supposed to be there and to take the Jacket off. He did, and shortly after that he punched him and put him in the Walls of Jericho.

Intermission

4. Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston defeated Primo and Epico to retain the WWE Tag Titles. Entertaining match. Big pop for Air Boom. Epico pinned Kofi for the three count but Kofi's foot was on the ropes. The referee did not see it, and Primo and Epico were announced as the new tag team champions. They celebrated with the belts. A referee from the back came out and took the belts from them and they restarted the match. Evan hit Air Borne for the win and all was set right.

5. John Cena beat Kane by DQ. The crowd went nuts for Cena. San Angelo would definitely be shocked to see a Cena heel turn, although this viewer, even though i'm a Cena fan, is all for it. Like all other live events recently, Kane hit Cena with a chair for the DQ. Kane then choke slammed cena. Kane left the ring, only to run back in for an AA to keep the crowd happy.

6. CM Punk defeated The Miz to retain the WWE Championship. A good pop for Punk. The match started and every four times Punk hit the Miz, The Miz retreated to ringside. Toward the end, Punk kicked out of the Skull Crushing Finale. The big finish was Miz pulling off the turnbuckle padding, but the referee noticed it. Miz turned around and was greeted by the GTS for the Punk win.

After the match R-Truth attacked The Miz, then turned and reassured everyone that he was indeed a face by shaking hands with CM Punk. Punk acted really surprised. Punk sent the crowd home happy by walking all throughout the arena and mingling with the fans.

Notes: A good show, except for my near death experience. It was definitely a different experience sitting front row ringside. I would do it over and over again.
