WWE Smackdown house show
Duluth, Minn. at The D.E.C.C. Arena
Report by Dot Net reader Bryan Koval
Pretty standard house show with pretty much the same results as last nights show. Lot of kids. The D.E.C.C wasn't even half full but everyone who was there had a great time.
1. R-Truth beat Dolph Ziggler in about ten minutes. Decent opening match with the crowd into Truth.
William Regal came out and made comments about Vladimir Koszlov which led to Koszlov coming out and went after Regal. Afterwards Tyler Reks and Zack Ryder came in for a triple team and then Goldust and Yoshi Tatsu came in with a all men going at it in the middle of the ring which led to...
2. Vladimir Koszlov.Goldust and Yoshi Tatsu beating William Regal,Tyler Reeks and Zack Ryder. Lot of action in a short 7 minute match.
Savanah was in the crowd in the nose bleeds asked a family to name the next pay-per-view coming up. They got the answer right and was awarded front row seats.
3. Mickie James beat Beth Pheniox in a great match that went over ten minutes. I wish every women's match would be given this amount of time on WWE TV.
4. Eric Escobar pinned Mike Knox. No reaction at all for this. No one knew or cared about Escobar and Knox is huge in person. Not bad but not good.
Afterward as Escobar went to exit, The Hart Dynasty laid out Escobar and made their way to the ring. Out came Jimmy Wang Yang and the wrestler formerly known as Jesse.
5. The Hart Dynasty defeated Jimmy Wang Yang and Slam Master J. Decent 12 minute match where Dynasty won with a Hart Attack.
Chris Jericho came out and ripped up on the crowd, saying how everyone were failures. Standard Jericho and the crowd came to life.
6. Chris Jericho defeated Matt Hardy. Hardy came to the ring after Jericho's promo and they had a decent 10 minute match. Jericho won while holding the ropes.
We had intermission and came back to ...
7. Drew McIntyre beat Jim Morrison to retain the Intercontinental Title. Drew looked good here. It was an OK match. Drew was saying how crazy we are for living in some place so cold and they went right to the match.
8. Christan beat Ezekiel Jackson to retain the ECW Championship. A decent match. Christan is so good in the ring I hope he goes to Smackdown in the next draft. A good 10 minute match.
9. Rey Mysterio beat Batista by DQ when Batista hit Rey with a chair outside of the ring. Afterward, Rey came back and hit 619 on Batista and hit him with the chair. The crowd was into this and the ladies were cheering for Batista. One of the better matches they had.
Notes: The show went two hours and 45 minutes and was worth the $20. Nothing was offensive except the people sitting behind me that tried to be funny all night and were not.
