WWE Supershow house show
Bossier City, La.
Report by Dot Net reader Matthew Valcho
We walked into the arena about 7 minutes before the show started. The top level was curtained off, so the bottom was about 3/4 full. Tony Chimel came out and the National Anthem was played. He then welcomed us to the show and announced the first match.
1. The Hurricane, Goldust, and Tommy Dreamer defeated Zack Ryder (w/Rosa Mendes), Ezekiel Jackson, and Vance Archer. Solid opening with plenty of high flying moves from the Hurricane. Everyone entered the ring and fought, then Goldust picked up the win by pinning Ryder.
A family was moved to ringside after answering where Wrestlemania will be next year.
Sheamus made his ring entrance and cut a promo on how he was making an imapct on the WWE and about his match at TLC. He then issued an open challenge to anyone from any brand.
2. Sheamus defeated Evan Bourne. Evan is pretty short in person. Bourne started the match with kicks to Sheamus, getting a nearfall, then went to the top rope and was thrown down by Sheamus. Sheamus power-bombed Bourne for the win. I had seats by the entrance ramp so i heard alot of people screaming "Get A Tan," and "Watch your Lucky Charms."
Chimel introduced the guest ring announcer for the divas match: Jillian Hall.
3. Mickie James defeated Beth Phoenix. Same old same old divas match with a few people around me chanting Piggy James. Mickie won with a reversal into a DDT.
Tony Chimel plugged merchandise and The Marine 2 with Ted Dibiase.
4. Chavo Guerrero beat Alex Riley (FCW developmental wrestler). People were thinkin of insults all night. One person screamed "You're no Eddie!" Chavo won with the frogsplash.
5. Matt Hardy and Kane defeated Legacy. Kane won by chokeslaming Cody. Matt seemed a bit scared of Kane at the end when he raised his hand.
6. Kofi Kingston defeated Jack Swagger. Kofi was over big time. He went for the leg drop and Swagger moved. Later, he hit Trouble in Paradise for the win.
INTERMISSION
Drew McIntyre came and cut a promo about the IC title shot and how he got it.
7. Drew McIntyre defeated Jimmy Wang Yang. Loads of USA chants. Pretty slow match. People were still coming back from intermission.
Chimel plugged TLC.
8. Christian defeated William Regal to retain the ECW Championship. A few USA chants until they heard Canada was where Christian was from. This match would not end. Regal insulted Bossier and got MASSIVE heat. Christian would raise his hand and get cheers then point at Regal and get boos. They finally got underway with Christian hitting the Killswitch for the win.
9. Triple H defeated Randy Orton in a no DQ, falls count anywhere match. A sign read, "I hear voices in my head too, Randy, they say you suck." The match started with a few submissions and hits. Orton went for a trash can and hit HHH with it. Later HHH made a comeback after hitting Orton with the can then going for the pin when Legacy broke it up. HHH was beat down until Kofi came in and drove Legacy away. He then turned around and got hit with an RKO. While Orton was getting ready to punt Kofi, HHH got his hammer, hit Orton for the pin, and sendt the crowd home happy.
Overall great show. 4/5. If a WWE event comes close, I would recommend going. Sign Guy was there and was one of the main guys that stirred up Regal.
Biggest Pops:
1) Triple H (by far)
2) Christian
3) Kofi Kingston
Most Heat:
1) Regal
2) Sheamus
3) Orton
