WWE Super Show house show
Syracuse, N.Y. at The Carrier Dome
Report by Dot Net reader Matthew Biesiada
I should preface this by saying that the only other house show I was at was in 1989 headlined by demolition over the Powers of Pain and a Macho Man no show.
Anyway, there were a lot of empty seats, which surprised me with the low ticket prices and the fact they have been pushing it hard.
Howard Finkel was out first to warm up the crowd.
1. Christian beat Shelton Benjamin in a babyface vs. babyface match.
2. The Miz defeated Jack Swagger and MVP in a Triple Threat match for the U.S. Title. Miz had a huge amount of heat and picked up the win.
3. A babyface trio won a Santa's Little Helper match.
4. Kane Defeated Big Show. Show had a big pop.
5. Drew McIntyre defeated John Morrison to retain the Intercontinental Title. McIntyre won with a clean pin over Morrison. Both men were impressive.
6. Batista over Rey Mysterio in a falls count anywhere bout. Batista must of got a hard shot, because he had a lot of color in and around his right eye.
7. DX and Kofi Kingston over Legacy. A great six man. On Live TV, you can't really do a hot tag due to time contrasts, but live is awesome. Interesting note, All members of Legacy had their trunks pulled down by DX at one point, something they probably wouldn’t be able to get away with on PG television)
8. John Cena over Shemaus via DQ. Cena sold most of the match, Sheamus has some great moves but he is quite green as he botched a few of them. After the match, Cena thanked the fans and talked about it being the last WWE show of the decade.
