[Q1] My Christmas gift to Powell was for him to kick back, throw some Jagerbombs back and watch football while I’ll cover the final Raw of 2009…

The show started with Jericho protesting with fans outside of the arena. He trashed the fans and he got booed hard. He asked them to sign a petition for him to come back to Raw and the opening montage was shown.

The announcers hyped the WWE title match and the Bret Hart tease. Cena came put to a big real pop from the kiddies and the women. Cena went under the ring and grabbed a table and placed it in the ring. Cena sat on the top rope and smiled to the now mixed crowd. He said the crowd was excited tonight and said that he is also. He said two weeks ago, this is where Sheamus became champ and the table was what he was referring to. He said it’s the last Raw of 2009 and he gets his rematch. He said judging by his excitement, the rematch can happen now. He said they can’t have a regular match, but a tables match. The pumped Cena chants started and Sheamus came to the ring.

Both men stared each other down and Sheamus grabbed a microphone. He asked are you for real and he has something to prove. He said he had nothing to prove because he is the WWE champ. He said Raw Belongs to him and he got mega heat. Cena says Raw belongs to the universe. Sheamus said there will be no tables match and its not a challenge and he will beat him in a regular match. He said for the end of 2009 he will stand on his bruised body as the champ. Cena gave Sheamus a Attitude Adjustment through the table. [C]

Mind of Marv: Wow, what a way to make your champion look weak. I swear if Cena wins the belt, there will be a lot of pissed off males and a lot happy women and children. It’s like a extra Christmas in the making for kids…

The ECW Homecoming was promoted for tomorrow and the footage of Cena giving Sheamus the AA on Sheamus. Cole hyped Timbaland appearance and there was a party.

[Q2] Backstage, Timbaland, the (self pro-claimed Celebrity Whore) Bella Twins and Gail Kim were chillin’ backstage. Timbaland said he is the realest GH here and Matthews asked if he would postpone the match. Timbaland asked the crowd if they still want to see the match and the crowd cheered. Timbaland made the match official and the Divas were chillin’ some more with Timbo…

Meanwhile, Legacy was coming to Orton and Orton looked pissed. Orton said its time to break up Legacy and he wasted his time with them. He complained about them losing last week and Orton said it was failure to associate with them. Rhodes said that they bailed him out a ton and Ted said that they should be bailing them out. Orton said that they have win or get their asses kicked by him. Cody faces Mark Henry and Ted Dibiase faces Evan Bourne.

Mind of Marv: This is how you make Ted Dibiase a babyface by creating this ridiculous angle? FAIL…
Outside, Jericho had a sign that said “Stop the Jericho Embargo…”

Orton came to the ring…[C]

Jericho is still outside protesting and Orton is still ringside for the matches. The Marine 2 trailer was shown and a short interview with Dibiase…

1. Ted Dibiase defeated Evan Bourne in 2:30. Ted hit some blow to Evan in the early going. Evan hit some kicks but Ted countered with a nasty clothesline. Ted hit a standing vertical suplex to Evan for a nearfall. Ted hit some elbows and places Evan in a headlock in the middle of the ring. Evan broke out and hit a jumping hurracrana for a nearfall.

Evan went for Air Bourne but Ted countered with Dream Street to win the match…

[Q3] Cody faces Mark Henry next and the announcers hyped the WWE title match for later tonight.

Mind of Marv: Short, ineffective match. I’m kind of shocked that Bourne actually didn’t steal this match but something tells me that the predictability of the WWE will show that both guys will win and Orton will turn on Ted…

2. Cody Rhodes pinned Mark Henry in 2:07. Henry controlled the first minute of the match and he splashed on Rhodes outside of the ring. He tweaked his knee and Rhodes controlled and hit a DDT to win the match.

Mind of Marv: Another short match which proved nothing. What will Orton do later tonight?

Orton smiled and commended Rhodes for the victory. Meanwhile, Jillian and Gail Kim were talking and Jillian said that she was gonna audition to be on Timbo’s tour. DX meanwhile was horsing around with Horny and they strapped him to a skateboard. HBK was bitching about the Bret Hart announcement and Hunter joked around. They said they face Big Show and a partner of his choosing. Jillian was singing and Hunter threw Horny into Jillian and King said it was midget bowling…[C]

Mind of Marv:More filler on the Vinnie Mac variety hour with DX acting like clowns and Timbo looking lost as hell…

[Q4] They hyped the DX vs. Show and his mystery partner match and Kingston vs Miz match. If Kingston wins, he gets a US title match next week.

Mind of Marv: Please tell me that they are not souring on Kofi’s push…

3. Maryse defeated Kelly Kelly in 1:37 The match started with K2 getting some quick blows but Maryse hitting some serious blows. K2 hit a crossbody for a nearfall. Maryse snapped Kelly and hit a DDT to end the match.

Mind of Marv: Where is the wrestling? We have gotten roughly 6 ½ minutes of wrestling in a hour, wow…but this was a forgettable Diva’s match.

Maryse started to laugh hysterical and asked Melina if she was watching her. And spoke that sexy French and said she was the next Divas champ and kicked K2…

Mind of Marv: The only thing great is Maryse looking really tasty, that is all…

Meanwhile, Vinnie Mac is coming to the ring, next…[C]

Jericho is still protesting outside and Show asked what he was doing. Show said it was over and Jericho sounded all soft. Show said to move on and said that long distance relationships don’t work. Show said he cares and told Jericho to let it go. Jericho said he will cherish this forever and smiled when he looked at the envelope. Justin Roberts introduced Vince.

Vince said good evening and everyone said “We want Bret”. He said he will address some rumors and the suggestions and said next week, Bret Hart is the GH for next week. Vince showed a video of Bret Hart’s history and the Montreal screwjob…

Mind of Marv: Very good production by WWE then they had to show the screwjob, ugh…

[Q5] Vince said that he didn’t leave on the best of terms and he said Bret screwed himself. He said despite what happened in the past, he brought him back and let him in the HOF. He said he came out the stage and he wanted to shake his hand, but he didn’t. He said Bret showed him crap and despite that, he is the better man and brought him back. He said if you are and imbecile, you will say what…

And when he said the GH will be he paused and said he can’t do it. He apologized and said Bret will never be a GH on Raw. The predicatbale WWE showed that HBK came out to interrupt. Vince put HBK over and HBK cockeyed and all stared at Vince. HBK said that sometimes, not often that are rivalries that are bigger than the industry. He said that its so big that he cannot deny that it doesn’t work for him. HBK referred to Taker not Bret Hart. He said he knows he can beat Taker and he can beat his undefeated streak.

He said that he is a man that likes to make money and he asked to book the rematch between him and Taker.

He said as the chairman of the board, he is reluctant to make the match and he won’t make the match. He said if he wants the match he will make it happen. HBK said it one other thing he wants and he said Vince is afraid of the Taker but being afraid of Bret Hart? He needs to bring some closure back and he should bring Bret back to WWE and Raw. He said he promises if he does, good things will happened. Vince said he is not afraid of anyone and he is fearless. He asked the phrase that HBK used? HBK said only good things will happen.

Vince stared at HBK and said only good things will happen by bring Bret back and HBK said that he will be happy to see Bret, one more time. Vince said that the New Year will start with Bret being the GH next week.

Mind of Marv: About time there is something that I can smile about on Raw. Next week should be some interesting Monday Night TV.

Josh Matthews interviewed Cena and asked him does he have the advantage over Sheamus? Sheamus beat the shit out of Cena…[C]

Mind of Marv: I take back what I said earlier…as long as Cena looks weak, this show gets better.

[Q6] The history of the world title was shown. The Bellas, Eve and Kim were chatting. Timbo and MVP were talking about the Timbaland game. Kofi thanked Timbo for the US title match. MVP said once Kofi beats the Miz, he wants a title shot. Miz interrupted and said that Kofi will never beat him and they will be afterthoughts. Miz ripped Gail Kim and said that she will never handle him and she brushed him off. Timbo said that if Kofi beats him, the US title match will be tonight. Everyone backstage were making beats and saying really.

Mind of Marv: Damn I really want this MVP heel turn to go down so he can get pushed…

Cole started to dance and said the “Really” chant and footage of Cena putting Sheamus through the table and Sheamus beating on Cena. The WWE title match was hyped for later…

Mind of Marv: As much as I respect Timbaland for his beats, as a guest host he sucks, I’m sorry. Cole is such as tool…

4. Kofi Kingston defeated the Miz in 0:48. Miz started with a nice suplex and worked on Kofi in the corner. Miz hit the splash on Kofi and hit a nasty Trouble in Paradise on Miz to knock him out.

Mind of Marv: These short matches are killing me softly…

[Q7] 5. Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz for the United States title ended in a no-contest. The show returned with the match in progress and Kofi being dominate and Kofi went for a cover for a nearfall. Kofi hit a Russian leg sweep and hit the Boom Drop and t hit the Trouble in Paradise but Orton came out destroyed Kofi, threw him into the ringpost and hit the RKO.

Mind of Marv: To quote the late Bernie Mac, Nice…real nice…I’m glad they are continuing this feud because this is one of the highlights of Raw.

The WWE title match was hyped again…[C]

Matthews asked Orton why he beat the hell out of Kofi and next week they face each other and he will bring in the new year by kicking him in the skull. DX made their entrance and Hunter did his usual “Are you Ready” chant…

And said that Big Show felt down because of the breakup of him and Jericho and made some gay jokes about him and HBK said its nothing wrong with that. Jericho came to the ring from the crowd. Jericho purchased a ticket to be ringside. [C]

Big Show and Chavo came the ring…

Mind of Marv: Chavo? WTF???

6. DX defeated Big Show and Chavo Guerrero in 5:00. Chavo tried the 3 Amigos on Hunter, but Hunter hit a standing vertical standing suplex on Chavo. Chavo hit a dropkick and worked on Hunter in the corner. HBK hit a atomic drop on Chavo and Show threw HBK to the ground by the hair and Chavo hit a heel kick for a nearfall. The heels took advantage of HBK. Show tagged in and punched HBK in the abdomen and step on him. Show headbutted HBK and tagged back Chavo. Chavo went for a springboard but HBK countered and tagged Hunter and Show went at it and Hunter spinebusted Chavo.

Show speared Hunter and Chavo got on top of show for a frogsplash, but he missed. HBK got Show out of the ring. Horny went for a Pedigree but misses and Hunter got in a Pedigreed Chavo for the win. Jericho got pissy and kicked the ringstep and HBK kicked the shit out of Jericho with Sweet Chin Music. Hnuter then said if Jericho wants he rematch, he got it. But if he loses, he is off for good. No gimmicks, protests, nothing. HBK did the two word for ya thing…

Mind of Marv: Filler match which sets up a decent match for next week. I’m not mad, because we should get at least 10 minutes of quality wrestling next week.

Next week DX vs. JeriShow for the tag titles and they hyped the WWE title match that is next…[C]

Justin Roberts introduced Timbaland (who had a big ass Cena shirt on) who was with the Powell proclaimed Celebrity whore Bella Twins…

Mind of Marv: I lost all respect for Timbaland for wearing shirt Cena gear...

[Overrun] Timbo hyped the crowd for the title match. He introduced Cena and Sheamus respectively.

7. John Cena defeated WWE Champion Sheamus by DQ in 2:25. Both men exchanged blows. Cena hit a bulldog on Sheamus and Sheamus countered with a clothesline and multiple blows to Cena. Sheamus suplex Cena for a nearfall. Cena hit the 5 Moves of Doom and hit the 5 Knuckle Shuffle and Attitude Adjustment but Sheamus pulled the referee and threw him and got DQ’ed.

Sheamus walked off, but Cena grabbed him and threw him back in the ring. Sheamus hit the big boot twice on Cena. Sheamus said Raw belongs to him to close the show…

Mind of Marv: WOW…talk about a weak ass ending to Raw for 2009. We get a ton of short matches and the main event got predictable because of the time left in the show. The show had its moments, but Timbaland overall was a weak host and it was too many short matches. I have nothing else to say, but to tune in to Rich Twilling’s audio recap of the show.
