12/24 Hermanstyne's WWE Superstars Live Coverage: Vladimir Kozlov vs. Zeke Jackson, Chavo Guerrero vs. Primo, Mike Knox vs. Kane
Dec 24, 2009 - 07:00 PM |
WWE Superstars on WGN America
[Q1] Video was shown of Regal turning on Kozlov and walking out with Zeke.
1. Vladimir Kozlov vs. Ezekiel Jackson ended in a double count-out in 1:25. Both men locked up and Kozlov kicked and tossed Zeke. Zeke got back on the advantage with midsection shots. Both men knocked each other out of the ring and beat on each other. Zeke pushed Kozlov into the ring post and both competitors got counted out.
Mind of Marv: To be honest, the crowd could care less about this matchup. Why was it booked to be a double countout? Sigh…
The Marine 2 trailer was shown and Knox vs. Kane is the main event…[C]
A Christian video package was shown…
Mind of Marv: This man should be the world champion on Smackdown…
The SD rebound was shown and the announcers hyped the Mysterio vs. Taker world title match for tomorrow…[C]
[Q2] The Royal Rumble hype video was shown and the tool Mike Cole and the King was on commentary…
2. Chavo Guerrero pinned Primo in 5:15. Chavo started with a neck toss and Primo hit a nice leg sweep for a nearfall. Primo applied a wrist lock and Chavo countered with clothesline. Primo worked on Chavo in the corner and went for a rollup for an nearfall. Chavo hit an dropkick for a nearfall. Chavo went for an cover for a nearfall. Chavo applied an half Cobra Clutch.
Chavo hit some blows to Primo but Primo countered with flying elbow. Primo hit a side Russian leg sweep for a nearfall. Primo went for a high flying move but Chavo countered with a dropkick. Chavo gloated and went for the 3 Amigos, but Primo countered with a roll up for a nearfall. Primo went for a body slam but Chavo countered with the Frogsplash for the win. [C]
Mind of Marv: Nice cruiserweight match. Its sad that both of these guys are buried in the undercard. Primo went from being a tag champion to one of Raw’s resident jobbers. While Chavo is comic relief to Hornswoggle or Chris Masters…
The Ask for Divas segment was shown and Maryse’s face was hilarious…
[Q3] The promo video was shown of Timbaland hosting Raw this coming Raw and Striker hyped the fact that Divas have a photo shoot available for the holidays. IC champ Drew McIntyre came to the ring for a promo.
Still pictures were shown of Drew winning the IC title. He said when Vince signed him to SD, he saw that he can lead him to a new fresh of breath to the company. He bragged about being IC champ and said it means that Vince was right; he said everything that he done has been right and Morrison interrupted.
Morrison says that Vince and everyone had their plans right. Morrison asked him if NYD was? And Morrison said that Teddy Long granted him a rematch for the IC title. Drew said on NYD, the party is over. Morrison asked if Drew been to a party and said he couldn’t because no one can understand what he says and told him to shut up. He said he will be Drew for the IC title and Morrison beat on Drew and hit Starship Pain on Drew…[C]
Mind of Marv: This is overall a nice feud. At first I didn’t buy McIntyre, but he will be a star if they book him correctly. As long as they don’t book him like Dolph Ziggler, he’s good…
Kane is coming to the ring, next...[C]
Striker and Grisham hyped the Tribute to the Troops and how Cena impacted the annual event. Video package was shown of WWE stars interacting with the Troops…
Mind of Marv: This package is always great and I wish everyone who is fighting everyday a Merry Christmas!
[Q4] 3. Kane defeated Mike Knox in 11:15. Both men lock up and Knox hit an shoulder block. Kane worked on Knox’s left arm and Knox countered with a suplex attempt but Kane countered with a suplex with a nearfall. Kane threw Knox into the ring post and worked on him in the corner. Knox rammed Kane into the corner but Kane countered with a big boot. [C]
The show returned with Kane knocking Knox out of the ring. Kane tried to choke slam Knox, but Knox hit a big boot to Kane. Knox hit a move on Kane’s head and worked on Kane in the corner. Knox clotheslines Kane and went for cover for a nearfall. Kane hit a side slam to Knox. Knox hit a nasty drop kick to Kane for a nearfall.
Knox applied a headlock to Kane but Kane countered with a uppercut and clothesline. Kane hit a sidewalk slam for a nearfall. Kane hit the flying clothesline for a nearfall. Knox hit a crossbody for a nearfall. Kane hit another uppercut and tried to choke slam him bit Knox pushed him off and Kane fell. Kane caught Knox in the air and chokeslammed him for the win.
Mind of Marv: Good big man match. I would of rathered seen this that Kane vs. Khali. This has potential to be a good mid-card feud to elevate Knox. I would really like to see Knox get pushed on this brand because he could make a great champion. Overall, this show was decent.
I needed a wrestling fix since no TNA was shown tonight and overall it wasn’t a bad edition of Superstars. Send comments or suggestions mr.hermanstyne@gmail.com and I will debate sports topics and I will see you for Christmas Smackdown tomorrow…
