10/29 Shore's WWE Superstars Live Coverage: Jack Swagger vs. Primo, Kelly Kelly vs. Alicia Fox, Zack Ryder vs. Tyler Reks, The Hart Dynasty and Mike Knox vs. Cryme Tyme and R-Truth
Oct 29, 2009 - 07:00 PM

Superstars on WGN America
Taped in Buffalo and Rochester, N.Y.

[Q1] The opening video aired, followed by Jack Swagger’s music, and Michael “U.S.S.” Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcomed us to Superstars. Swagger made his entrance as the announce team hyped the tag team main event. Primo was out next…

1. Jack Swagger defeated Primo at 5:31.Swagger took Primo down amateur style and then stood up. He tried to Punk Primo. Primo stood up and hit several strikes and a drop kick. That was all of his offense. Old King and Cole spent the majority of the match talking about Team Raw getting screwed over and the Iron Man Match. Swagger had about 30 near falls on Primo, but suddenly missed a leg drop. Primo hit several shots, but Swagger hit a big boot and the gut wrench powerbomb for the win. The announce team hyped the winning streak Swagger is on since his pledge…

Cole dropped his diva’s line and that meant the Ask a Diva segment. It was God awful answers to Halloween questions…Backstage, Kelly Kelly was shown heading towards the ring. Her match is next…[C]

Shore’s Slant: Four matches in the same show means all we be short and generally they stink. This was basically a squash for Swagger. I forgot Primo and Carlito were even on the roster. Sad.

Back from commercial, Kelly Kelly made her ring entrance. Alicia Fox was out next…

[Q2]2. Alicia Fox defeated Kelly Kelly at 3:38. Alicia started with an arm twist. Kelly climbed the rope and flipped out into an arm drag. She hit a dropkick for one. She hit the ropes and Fox reversed into a titl a whirl backbreaker for two. She locked in rest hold. Kelly made her feet and Alicia lifted for a slam. Kelly escaped into a roll up for two. Then it got sloppy. A ton of bad spots, weak strikes and clotheslines, and the longest near fall in history. Kelly tried for her gymnastic elbow. Fox kneed her in the back and hit the scissor kick for the win…Backstage, The Harts were shown talking with Knox…[C]

Shore’s Slant: Not a terrible match for the first 75 seconds or so, bad after that. The finish was nice. I dub the move The Fox Trot. The women on Raw have no direction. Smackdow finally looks like it has something, but I’m scared it will suddenly go away.

Back from commercial…damn…Zach Ryder made his ring entrance as Josh Matthews and Byron Saxton took over on commentary. Saxton was moved up from FCW to fill the void after the JR illness cause an announcer shuffle. Matt Striker joins Todd Grisham tomorrow night. Tyler Reks was out next…

3. Zack Ryder defeated Tyler Reks at 3:45. Reks started out in control early. He tossed Ryder to the floor and tried for a baseball slide. Ryder stepped aside and hit a stiff kick. He rolled Reks back in the ring and worked heel moves and strikes. He hit a nice running kick in the corner. Reks came back quickly and hit a reverse suplex. Reks tried to pump the crowd up. Seven people cheered and five booed. He hit an elbow for two.

[Q3]Reks whipped Ryder to the corner and charged in. Ryder kicked him and hit the Zack Attack for the win. Matthews asked Saxton if he was impressed. Saxton said, “Three words, woo, woo, woo.” Matthews added, “You know it!” I hope they both die…Punch and Judy hyped the main event…[C]

Shore’s Slant: Is this one of those “get everybody on TV this week” shows? This match was weak and ended too early. I hate when they have four matches. I hate Ryder’s gimmick, but he can wrestle and deserves better.

Back from commercial, Matt Striker and Todd Grisham took over on commentary. They introed a Big Show hype video…A video recapped the Bragging Rights main event. Truth made his lame ass entrance…[C]

Back from commercial, Cryme Tyme made their entrance. The crowd shot actually showed two black guys standing and cheering. Really? The heels came out together. Do I really have to review this match again…

[Q4]4. R-Truth and Cryme Tyme defeated The Hart Dynasty and Mike Knox at 12:56. Kidd and JTG started. Kidd broke early on a lock up and hit some strikes. JTG recovered and worked fast offense. He whipped Kidd and Kidd grabbed the ropes. He tagged in Knox who just locked on a headlock. JTG escaped and tag Shad. Shad hit several shoulder tackles, but couldn’t put Knox down. He went for another and Knox kicked him. He slammed Shad around and locked in a rest hold. Shad made his feet and Knox tossed him to the floor. Shad recovered into the break…[C]

Back from commercial at 7:40, Shad had Knox in an arm bar. A replay video showed Shad beat up Knox on the outside during the break. Knox made his feet and drove Shad to his own corner. Smith tagged in and worked strikes. Kidd hit Shad in the back of the head, and Smith hit a suplex for two. Kidd tagged in and they worked double team moves on Shad. Knox tagged right back in and worked the back. He locked in a bear hug.

Knox broke the hold and knocked JTG out. Shad replied with a slam. Double hot tags to Kidd and Truth. Truth worked his offense but botched his back flip. Truth hip tossed Kidd and Knox came in and leveled him. Knox took out Shad, JTG took out Knox, Smith took out JTG, and Knox took out Smith. Kidd rolled up for two. He tried for a clothesline, but Truth ducked and hit the lie detector for the win. Post match, a video recapped the match and the faces celebrated to end the show…

Shore’s Slant: I am so over this feud. Adding Knox and Truth doesn’t make it fresh either. Please get the belts off JeriShow and give them to the Harts. Or hell, even Cryme Tyme at this point, just point these teams in another direction. I’m taking tomorrow night off to go Trick or Treating with the kiddies. Thanks for watching along and I’ll see you next week.
