[Q1]The opening video aired, followed by Santino Marella’s entrance, and Michael “That’s Funny” Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcomed us to Superstars. Chris Masters made his entrance next…

1. Chris Masters defeated Santino Marella at 4:55. Santino played comedic and the crowd chanted his name. Masters shoved Santino and he rolled through and made Masters look silly. Masters kicked him and went on offense. Santino hit two punches, but Masters laid him out and worked strikes. He hit a side Russian leg sweep for two and locked in a chin/arm lock. Santino arm dragged out and tried for a full nelson. Masters destroyed him and went back to the rest hold.

Santino broke the hold with a chin buster, but with one punch, Masters retook control. He slapped Santino around. Santino hulked up, split ducked a clothesline, and hit an arm drag. He muttered in Italian and then missed a diving headbut. Master locked in the Master lock for the win…The announce team hyped Mysterio/Knox…[C]

Shore’s Slant: Eh, it was alright. I guess Masters needed to be reintroduced to the WWE Universe. Might as well kill the stooge while you’re at it.

Back from commercial, William Regal made his ring entrance as Josh Matthews and Matt Striker took over on commentary. Paul and Katie Lee Burchill were out next. Reks was out next, followed by Yoshi Tatsu…

2. William Regal and Paul Burchill (w/Katie Lee) defeated Tyler Reks and Yoshi Tatsu at 11:19. Tatsu and Burchill started out. Slow and steady action to start.

[Q2]Tatsu hit two arm drags into an arm bar. Reks got the tag and hit a sunset flip for one. He whipped Burchill and ducked his head. Burchill clubbed him on the back and tagged in Regal. Awkward back and forth, with both men no selling for a moment. Regal took control and spilled Reks to the floor. He recovered into the break…[C]

Back at 6:44, Tatsu had an arm bar on Regal. A video explained that Regal got whipped into the apron during the break. Tatsu and Reks tagged in and out, working on the arm. Regal got a tag and worked power on Tatsu, but Tatsu hit a ton of kicks. Tatsu went to climbed the ropes, but Regal distracted him, allowing Burchill to hurt Tatsu’s leg. Regal tagged in and continued to work the leg. The heels worked in and out quickly, working on Tatsu’s leg.

Tatsu tried for an insaguri to escape, but Burchill ducked. He took out Reks, but Tatsu hit a drop kick. Double hot tag and Reks worked on Regal. He hit a flying clothesline and covered, but Burchill broke it up. Tatsu took out Burchill and Reks hit a springboard cross body, but Regal rolled through for the win…A video recapped John Cena throwing out the first pitch for my Chicago Cubs…

[Q3]The announce team hyped the main event…[C]

Shore’s Slant: Terrible match. I mean a real stinker. It wasn’t as boring as say Triple H and Orton from Mania this year, but just poorly done. Everybody looked stiff. The new guys didn’t want to get roughed up by the Brits, and the Brits didn’t seem to want to sell for the new kids. Just ugly. And Cena, my Cubs are buried enough. How about you stay the hell away?

A “Koslov is a machine” video aired…Todd Grisham and Jim Ross were on commentary. A video recapped the end of last week’s Smackdown…Rey Mysterio made his ring entrance…[C]

Back from commercial, Mike Knox made his ring entrance. Dolph Ziggler was officially announced as the special guest commentator…

3. Rey Mysterio defeated Mike Knox by Disqualification at 14:15. Collar and elbow tie up led to Knox breaking dirty and working strikes on Mysterio. Knox clubbed him to the ground and covered for two.

[Q4]Rey tried to kick his way into control, but Knox leveled him again for two. Mysterio kicked Knox who charged at him. Mysterio pulled the top rope down and Knox spilled to the floor. Mysterio hit a seated Swanton from the apron and Knox recovered into the break…A Dolph Ziggler hype video aired…[C]

Back at 6:39, Knox stomped Mysterio in the corner. The crowd was chanting 619. Mysterio hit a drop toe hold and then a flying leg scissors to regain control for a moment, but Knox hit a clothesline to squash the comeback. He set Mysterio on the top turnbuckle and hit a big boot to spill Rey to the floor. Rey made it back in at 9.999999999999.

Knox hit a slingshot hangman for two. Knox locked in a bear hug. Ziggler is disappointing on commentary. He’s not bad, just boring. Mysterio escaped, but Knox hit a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and then a splash to the back for two. Knox hit a backbreaker into a rest hold. Mysterio punched out and hit a leg scissors. He ducked Knox’s charge and Knox hit the post. Mysterio worked his offense. He hit a bulldog for two.

Knox clubbed Rey again, but he missed a knee drop. Mysterio hit a big kick for two. Mysterio ran the ropes and Knox hit a flying cross body for two. That is so awesome looking. The crowd went crazy chanting 619. Mysterio hit a surprise DDT for two. He hit a dropkick on Knox’s ass and followed up with 619. He went to the apron, but Ziggler drug him to the floor, causing the DQ. Ziggler tossed Mysterio back in the ring and Knox whipped him to the corner. Ziggler ran in, but Rey ducked the Stinger splash and rolled under Knox to escape the ring. He backed up the ramp to end the show…[C]

Shore’s Slant: The hot rumor for a while was Knox was in the dog house. I don’t know what he did, but I hope the punishment is over. Anybody with that size, who can throw themselves around the ring like he does without hurting someone, especially someone as small as Rey, has a vote of confidence in my book. Ziggler was pretty bad on commentary, almost Mickie James-esque in his delivery. That’s why he isn’t main event ready, but he will be soon. Very soon. See you tomorrow night for Smackdown.
