[Q1] The show kicked off with the new montage of the newly drafted Smackdown stars. Jeff Hardy came out to a huge pop from the crowd.

1. Big Show defeated Jeff Hardy in 11:54.The first 20 seconds of the match was like a cat and mouse chase. Show grabbed Jeff and threw him into the ring post and gave him a head butt. Show ripped Jeff's shirt and chopped his chest in. Jeff tried to get some offense but was countered by Show's strength advantage. Jeff attempted some punches and kicks but Show countered with a head butt. Jeff got some more offense in but Show threw him out of the ring. [C]

[Q2]The show returned with footage of the Big Show dominating during the commercial break. Show applied a submission move to Jeff's shoulder. Jeff countered with a chin breaker. Jeff went for a Twist of Fate but Show threw him into the ring post. Jeff DDTed Show and Matt Hardy ran out to distract Jeff. Jeff leaped on Matt and got back into ring. Jeff went for a Whisper in the Wind but Show knocked him out for the victory.

Afterwards, Matt slapped Jeff around and gave him multiple leg drops like he was doing some Hulk Hogan impersonations. Matt left the ring with a ton of heat from the crowd.

Mind of Marv: This match was damn near a squash because Jeff Hardy just looks like a jobber out there. Show basically beat the shit out of him and the only offense Jeff got was towards the end. I really hope this Hardy feud is done at Backlash because it’s boring the hell out of me.

The faceoff between Triple H and Randy Orton is later tonight. Also, Batista and Ted DiBiase is the main event tonight. [C]

The Smack of the Night was shown with Santino getting squashed by Khali on RAW. Khali was already in the ring for the Khali Kiss Cam. They showed the picture of Santina and Singh described the hell out the picture.

Mind of Marv: I just threw up my fish dinner...

Singh went on to look for the lucky woman to kiss Khali for the Kisscam segment. They actually found a decent looking woman for a change...what are the odds?? The Pujambi Playboy looked extra thristy tonight and he liplocked the woman. Singh said it was so intense he had to catch his breath. The woman said that she never kissed a giant before. Singh said that Khali will make Santina feel like a real woman. The beautiful Maryse is coming to the ring for her match which is next...[C]

Mind of Marv: I guess a lot of plus size women complained to WWE about Khali making them look like tools, haha.

[Q3]2. Gail Kim pinned Maryse in a non-title match in 3:45. The match began with Maryse posing and fooling Kim into flying out of the ring. Maryse attacked Kim and argued with the referee. Maryse hit a tilt-o-whirl backbreaker on Kim for a nearfall. Then she put Kim in a modified camel clutch and rubbed Kim's head into the ring. Kim gained some offense with a leg sweep and numerous clotheslines. Kim gained the win with a nasty finisher.

Mind of Marv: Decent but not a terrible match. There were some botches of course but we can get no perfection out of a Divas match, can't we.

R-Truth made his ring entrance as we interlude to a commercial...[C]
The show returned with Truth saying what's up to everyone and Morrison made his entrance. Highlights of The Miz attacking Morrison after being drafted.

[Q4]3. John Morrison defeated R-Truth in 3:56. The match began back and forth with some decent paced action. Morrison got the advantage with a kick off the second rope. Morrison applied a modified sleeper but Truth countered. Morrison hit a drop toe hold to Truth on the rope. Truth applied a modified jawbreaker for nearfall. Truth hit some offense to get the crowd behind him and hit a nasty scissors kick for a nearfall. Truth hit some punches but Morrison countered by throwing Truth off the ring and he hit the Moonlight Drive for the win.

Mind of Marv: This is the beginning of Morrison's push. This match was too short because I really liked it. Morrison should be aiming for gold within the upcoming months. Triple H confrontation with Randy Orton is next....[C]
Hunter came out to a huge pop from the crowd. Orton's music played and he didn't come out but he was on the Titantron. Orton said what makes him think he will show up with Backlash 9 days away. He gave a promo about how Hunter doesn't have control and his alias is enemies. He mentioned that one mistake can cost him the WWE title. He says he think that's funny. He said did you think it was funny when he RKOed, DDTed and kiss his wife. He says that kiss keeps him up at night and when he kisses her is that what you think about?

[Q5] Orton asked if they got the Easter basket he sent to Hunter. Hunter said he knows something he doesn't know. The match this Monday is NO DQ, no rules, no titles and stipulations he can hide behind. He said somewhere in the warped brain of his, that he started. He says on Monday he will finish it.

Mind of Marv: Excellent segment to transition from the first hour to the second hour. I am indeed interested to see what transpires on Monday night. Yeah...right. Backlash should be the blow off to this feud so let's make the best of it for the next nine days.

The Undertaker in action is next...[C]

The show returned with highlights of the Jeff Hardy and Big Show match and the aftermath by Matt Hardy. Backstage, Matt and Theodore Long were meeting. Long mentioned at Backlash, that Matt and Jeff will be wrestling in an I Quit match. Matt went on to said he gets to prove to his fans that he is nothing and at Backlash he will get the clean sweep by going 3-0. Shelton is already in the ring and Taker does his 45 minute ring entrance...

4. Undertaker defeated Shelton Benjamin 10:35. Taker applied a slam and an elbow for a nearfall. Taker hit Old School on Benjamin and he countered by hitting a neck breaker to Taker. [C]

[Q6] Back from commercial, Shelton was attacking Taker and applied a chin lock. Shelton continued to attack Taker and put pressure to his neck. Taker broke out of the hold and started to exchange punches with Shelton. Shelton leaped into choke slam but Shelton countered into a DDT. Taker got up and Shelton started to punch him. Taker attempted Snake Eyes but Shelton hit a belly to back suplex for a nearfall. Shelton mocked Taker but doing the neck slash and trying to Tombstone him but Taker countered with a actual Tombstone to get the victory.

Mind of Marv: These guys always have excellent matches and the wrestling heavy format for the show is what is making the show good. No more double tapings, therefore Smackdown should be above average every week.

Backstage, Dolph Ziggler tried to introduce himself to MVP but was interrupted by Teddy Long. Long and MVP started to have a conversation and Long said he'll miss MVP because he is going to RAW. Long yapped about MVP meeting some woman on The View. MVP headed to the ring for his match which is next...

Mind of Marv: I don't watch The View, but I'm sure Chris Shore has a Barbara Walters crush...

5. Dolph Ziggler upset MVP in a non-title match in 4:45. Dolph introduced himself but he pie faced MVP in his face. Ziggler got some quick offense in by attacking MVP's left arm for a nearfall. The crowd is so damn dead for this match. Grisham botched by saying MVP had dreads when he has braids...

Mind of Marv: Grisham had a Michael Cole moment, so I will leave it at that...

MVP got back in the match with some elbows and a belly to back suplex. MVP hit the Ballin' Elbow for a nearfall. MVP attempted the Drive By but Ziggler countered by hitting MVP's knee and grabbing the tights for the upset victory. Ziggler went on to say that his name is Dolph Ziggler, ugh.

Mind of Marv: This was bullshit. MVP jobbing to Ziggler? This show went from A- to B- in a snap of a finger. This match was boring and the crowd could care less. Hopefully this is not the worst to come for MVP now that he is on RAW.

[Q8] 6. Batista defeated Ted DiBiase in 11:40. The match began with DiBiase attacking Batista with punches. Batista took control with a power slam for a nearfall. He Irish whipped DiBiase into the ring post and attempted a Batista bomb but DiBiase countered with a chop block and worked on his leg. [C]

The match returned with DiBiase applying a leg whip and taking over the match. DiBiase chop blocked Batista and continued by hitting Batista's knee into the ring post. Batista came back with right hands but DiBiase hit him with a Russian leg sweep and stomped on Batista's midsection and knee. DiBiase continued to lock up Batista's knee and kicked him in his ribs. Both competitors exchanged punches but DiBiase applied a drop toe hold and worked on Batista's knee. Batista hit a spine buster and speared DiBiase. Batista hit the Batista Bomb for the win.

Mind of Marv: Great main event. DiBiase was the star in this match because he has really impressed me in singles action. He is another guy who should be getting a singles push. But overall, wrestling heavy shows make Marv happy. The show started suspect but progressively picked up and I give it a B+ overall.
