11/13 Kester's WWE Main Event Live Coverage Review: Tyson Kidd vs. Justin Gabriel, The Prime Time Players vs. Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre, and AJ vs. Natalya for the WWE Divas Championship
By Ryan Kester
Main Event on Ion Television
Taped earlier in Manchester, England.
[Q1] 1. AJ (w/Tamina) vs. Natalya for the WWE Divas Championship. The two women traded control several times in the early going, but Natalya finally settled into the driver's seat and went for an early Sharpshooter.
AJ escaped to the floor and managed to turn the momentum in her favor when she returned to the ring… [C]
Back from the break, AJ continued to control the action and focused her assault on Natalya's neck. Natalya eventually made her comeback and set up for the Sharpshooter again. This time she locked it in, and Tamina superkicked Natalya before AJ could tap…
Natalya defeated AJ via disqualification in 9:02 of TV time.
[Q2] AJ locked Natalya in the Black Widow after the match until the referee managed to pull her off... [C]
Ryan's Reaction: Good women's match. I still hate seeing submission wrestlers going for their signature hold so early as it makes them look like idiots, but otherwise this was a very solid women's wrestling match.

Natalya cried backstage about not capturing the Diva's Championship and Tyson Kidd tried to comfort her… [C]

[Q3] 2. Tyson Kidd vs. Justin Gabriel. The two men worked some chain wrestling to start. Kidd got in some flashy offense, but he ate a springboard cross body and Gabriel took his turn on offense.
Kidd landed a flurry of kicks, but he walked right into a German suplex from Gabriel for a two count. Kidd hit a side-Russian legsweep from the second rope for a near fall.
Gabriel hit a STO and set up for the 450 splash, but Kidd jumped up and swept his legs out from under him. Kidd hit a huracarana, but Gabriel rolled through the move and held Kidd's shoulders to the mat for the 1-2-3.
Justin Gabriel defeated Tyson Kidd in 6:06
Ryan's Reaction: Very quick match with some fun spots. Some of their transitions were noticeably clunky compared to other matches these two have had, but it was still a fun match for the middle of the show.
[Q4] A recap of John Cena getting attacked by Alberto Del Rio aired… [C]
3. Hath Slater and Drew McIntyre (w/Jinder Mahal) vs. The Primetime Players (/R-Truth). O'Neill took control early and worked over Drew McIntyre with a series of power moves. Young and Slater tagged in, and Slater managed to gain the upper hand. Slater slammed Young's arm on the steel steps.
The heels continued to maintain control and worked quick tags to wear down Young. Young eventually got the hot tag off to O'Neill, who stormed the ring and barked as he took out both of his opponents.
Jinder Mahal caused a distraction on the outside, and McIntyre managed to hit the Future Shock DDT, followed by a springboard corkscrew splash from Slater for the pinfall victory.
'The Union Jacks' defeated The Primetime Players in 6:46.
Ryan's Reaction: Not a bad match, but not the most exciting affair, either. The Union Jacks name was a fun diversion form the usual 3MB shenanigans, and it drew a great reaction from the live crowd. Overall, this show was a better than average Main Event. There were some issues with each match, but it managed to entertain for a decent hour of wrestling. Thanks for following along with me this evening.
