8/30 Kester's WWE Superstars Live Coverage Review: The Uso Brothers vs. Epico and Primo, Jinder Mahal vs. Alex Riley, and Ryback vs. Johnny Curtis
Aug 30, 2012 - 03:20 PM

By Ryan Kester

Superstars on WWE.com
Taped earlier in Milwaukee and Green Bay, Wisconsin.

1. Ryback vs. Johnny Curtis Curtis got some offense in early, but Ryback quickly took control and put Curtis away with his fisherman muscle buster… [C]

Ryback defeated Johnny Curtis in 2:28.

Ryan's Reaction: More of the same from Ryback. I'm ready for chapter 2 and I have been for a few months now.

A recap of Triple H's promo to the fans from Raw aired… [C]

2. The Uso Brothers vs. Epico and Primo (w/ Rosa Mendes). The Usos controlled early, and they worked together to wear down Epico. Primo tagged in, but he didn't have any better luck against the Usos.

Primo managed to gain the upper hand and he worked over jimmy for a spell, but Jey got the tag and the Usos took the heels out on the floor as the show went to break… [C]

Back from the break, Primo and Epico were firmly in control as they worked over Jey Uso. Jey eventually got the hot tag to Jimmy, who stormed the ring and attacked both of his opponents. Jimmy got a near fall off of a wrecking ball on Epico.

Primo broke the count and was attacked by Jey Uso. Jimmy hit a superkick and a Superfly Splash on Epico, but Primo dove in the ring as Rosa distracted the referee on the apron. Primo hit Jimmy with a backstabber and Epico covered him for the 1-2-3… [C]

Epico and Primo defeated The Uso Brothers in 10:12.

Ryan's Reaction: Standard issue tag match. Both teams played their parts well but it's hard to get excited about either team considering WWE's disinterred in pushing the division.

The Raw Rebound aired… [C]

3. Jinder Mahal vs. Alex Riley. Riley got a lot of offense in early but Mahal gained control and started to work over Riley's neck.

Riley had a few hope spots late in the match, but Mahal managed to put him away with a weak high knee and the Camel Clutch.

Jinder Mahal defeated Alex Riley in 5:50.

Ryan's Reaction: That match bored me. Mahal's style became a lot less interesting when he became saddled with the camel clutch, and I feel like we've seen this exact match between these two on more than one occasion. Overall, this edition of Superstars is entirely skippable. It featured three matches that are either a repeat of a previous match or a continuation of the same holding pattern you've seen done better on the main shows.
