10/29 Kester's WWE Superstars Report: Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase, Kelly Kelly and Eve vs. the Bella Twins, Ezekiel Jackson vs. Jinder Mahal, and Air Boom vs. JTG and Primo
Oct 30, 2011 - 09:25 AM

By Ryan Kester

WWE Superstars on WWE.com
Taped earlier in Austin and Houston, Texas.

1. Cody Rhodes beat Ted DiBiase in 10:15. The two worked some chain wrestling to start the match. DiBiase took control first with a back body drop. He followed with a running kick to Cody's face.

Rhodes gained control with a dropkick. The fight spilled to the floor, Cody Rhodes tried to hit Beautiful Disaster off of the apron, but DiBiase caught him with a dropkick before Rhodes could connect with the kick... [C]

Back from the break, DiBiase worked over Rhodes with some stomps in the corner. Rhodes fought back and put DiBiase in the tree of woe. Rhodes worked some stomps and then hit a release suplex for a two-count. Rhodes then locked in a rest hold.

DiBiase eventually made a comeback, but Rhodes caught him with a moonsault, followed quickly by CrossRhodes for the win… [C]

Ryan's Rant: Good match, but nothing we haven't seen from these two before. I'm glad that Rhodes has started utilizing the moonsault as he executes it in fantastic fashion.

2. Ezekiel Jackson defeated Jinder Mahal in 3:39. Jackson flattened Mahal early, and got a two-count off of a suplex.

Mahal fought back, however, and drilled Jackson with a kick before following up with a neckbreaker. Jinder dropped a series of knees on Jackson before locking in a rest hold.

Jackson made his comeback off of a clothesline and then proceeded to work Mahal over with a series of body slams. Jackson locked in the Torture Rack, and Mahal tapped out… [C]

Ryan's Rant: Standard Jackson match. I was surprised to see Mahal get as much offense in as he did, but it was pretty clear that he wasn't going to go over.

3. Air Boom vs. JTG and Primo JTG jawed with Kofi for a moment, and then Kofi proceeded to kick his face in. Bourne tagged into the match, and the faces double-teamed JTG.

JTG tagged in Primo, who quickly got taken down by Bourne. Bourne got caught in the heel corner, however, and JJTG and Primo worked quick tags to wear down the tag champ.

Eventually, Bourne got the hot tag to Kofi, who darted around the ring and took out both heels. Kofi hit a huge high angle cross body on Primo, followed by the Boom Drop.

Kofi hit the S.O.S. on Primo, but JTG broke the pin. Bourne took out JTG, Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise on Primo, and Kofi tagged in Bourne so he could hit AirBourne for the win.

Ryan's Rant: JTG and Primo? Really, WWE? This match felt like a throwaway from the moment that the NXT undercarders showed up to face the first tag team that WWE has gotten behind in years. When guys lose as much as Primo and JTG do, it makes the champions look bad to have to sell for them.

The Raw Rebound focused on John Cena's announcement that he will team with The Rock at Survivor Series, minus the spit… [C]

4. Kelly Kelly and Eve beat the Bella Twins in 5:23. Eve and Nikki started the match, and Eve did her dumb dance before hitting a standing moonsault. Nikki fought back and started working over Eve's arm.

The Bella Twins worked a series of quick tags to work over Eve. Eve finally got some separation from the Bellas with a Samoan drop and got the hot tag to Kelly.

Kelly worked through her move set, including a spanking and a stink face, and hit the K2 on one of the Bellas for the pin.

Ryan's Rant: You know, I think I've figured out why I'm so down on Kelly, beside the fact that she couldn't run the ropes properly if it was to save her life. It's this new move set they have given her. It's pretty much nothing more than a comedy set a la Santino Marella, but with her we're supposed to take it seriously. I think my brain just rejects that notion out of its ridiculousness. I just don't remember being as annoyed with her when she pretty much had a bulldog, a few kicks, and the K2 in her arsenal.

In any event, this was an entirely skippable edition of WWE Superstars. The first match was well-wrestled, but the rest was short, throwaway filler matches.
