Taped earlier in Indianapolis, Indiana and Lexington, Kentucky

1. Alicia Fox beat Kaitlyn in 5:36. Kaitlyn took early control with a headscissors. She set Fox up in the corner and taunted her, only to be met with a thez press from the top rope.

Fox immediately went to work by slamming Kaitlyn's head into the mat repeatedly before settling into a rest hold. Kaitlyn eventually battled out with a back suplex. Kaitlyn botched a flapjack and got a two-count.

Kaitlyn hit a back elbow from the second rope but Fox quickly came back with her scissor kick to end the match… [C]

Ryan's Rant: Well, that was terrible. Kaitlyn can't perform a move correctly to save her life, and Fox can never seem to hit her finisher properly. What a waste of a match.

2. Brodus Clay squashed Pat Silva in 2:36. Brodus wasted no time and picked Silva up and slammed him into the corner. Brodus worked a series of clubbing blows and elevated stomps in an attempt to flatten Silva's chest.

Brodus hit several elbow drops in a row and had the pin but picked Silva's head up. Brodus hit a saito suplex but decided to continue punishing Silva. He delivered a huge headbutt and then a running cross body for the win. Yes, you read that right, Brodus hit a running cross body. Wow… [C]

Ryan's Rant: Oh my lord. My main complaint about the big man during his run in NXT was that he had no consistent end to his matches. That move, however, would be the perfect finisher for him. It showed off his impressive agility considering his size, and it looked like it bloody hurt. I'm glad to see Brodus back on a WWE broadcast, but they need to give him a few minutes to have these squashes on Smackdown so people actually see them.

Before the following match could begin, JTG made his entrance and joined the commentary. Oh, goodie.

3. Vladimir Kozlov pinned Primo in 3:50. Kozlov took control in the early going, but Primo used the ropes to keep away from the bigger man. He was unable to avoid him for long, as Kozlov hit the Hammer and Sickle in the corner.

Primo got some separation and hit a chop block and locked in a single-leg Boston crab. Kozlov battled out but Primo stayed on him and continued to target the leg.

Kozlov eventually got a break when Primo charged in the corner and Kozlov ducked out the way. Kozlov worked a series of headbutts and stiff kicks. Primo battled back for a brief moment went to the second rope. He dove at Kozlov, but was met with a headbutt to the sternum that was enough to put him away for the 1-2-3… [C]

Ryan's Rant: I had to mute the feed at one point because JTG just became unbearable. That's saying a ton, as I sit through Bookter T on a weekly basis, and I recently listened to Hornswoggle on commentary and I never had to mute the sound. Ugh. This was a pretty standard match without anything special happening whatsoever. The fans just didn't care, and it dragged an otherwise decent match down.

The Raw rebound played, focusing on C.M. Punk's return and Triple H's decision concerning the two WWE Championships.

The announcers ran through the SummerSlam card and Jack Swagger made his entrance.… [C]

4. Jack Swagger beat Chris Masters in 12:18. The two worked some chain wrestling to start, with Swagger dictating the pace.

Swagger locked in a chickenwing stretch and masters entire body turned beat red. Masters battled out and knocked Swagger to the mat, so Swagger rolled out to the floor to break the momentum.

Swagger took control for a brief moment when the returned to the ring but masters hit a huge running reverse elbow to regain control. Masters worked swagger over in the corner and hit him with a bodyslam and a leg drop.

Masters went for a running powerslam but Swagger slid out and knocked master to the mat. Swagger hit a Swagger bomb to Masters' back and the show went to break… [C]

Back from commercial, Swagger continued to target Masters' back. Masters battled back with another reverse elbow but had trouble standing. Masters charged Swagger in the corner and nailed him with a clothesline.

Swagger immediately battled back and hit a shoulder block to masters' knee before locking in a rest hold. Masters finally got some separation and went for a suplex but his back gave out. Swagger capitalized with a clothesline and then taunted the crowd.

Swagger finally went back to Masters and nearly got caught in the Masterlock. When Masters realized he wouldn't get the hold, he hit a huge Samoan drop. He continued to sell his back injury while hitting some more offense, including a spinebuster for a near fall. Swagger hit a belly-to-belly suplex out of nowhere and followed up with a Swagger Bomb. Masters got his knees up, however, and went for the Masterlock for the second time. Swagger rolled out and locked in the ankle lock. Masters tapped moments later.

Ryan's Rant: it's a pet peeve of mine to see someone go for their submission hold when they have yet to wear down that area of their opponent earlier in the match. What's worse, Swagger actually got the victory off of the ankle lock when he had spent the entire match setting up for his gutwrench powerbomb. Sorry, it's a little thing, but it just gets under my skin.

Other than my personal distaste for the finish, that was a very good match. Lots of back-and-forth action, and Masters did a great job of selling the back pain inflicted upon him by Swagger. The Swagger Bomb to Masters' back looked especially painful. It's a shame that WWE couldn't find a character for masters to use in his latest run with the company, as he can pull off a great match from time-to-time.

Overall, the show was alright. The main event was the match of the night, and Brodus reminded me of why I was so impressed with him when he was on NXT. The Divas and the Kozlov/Primo match came across as unnecessary filler. Thanks for following along with me and I will see you all next week.
