6/16 Kester's WWE Superstars Live Coverage: Tyson Kidd's latest manager tryout, the match Zack Ryder should have had on Raw, Drew McIntyre vs. Vladimir Kozlov, and Toshi Tatsu vs. Chavo Guerrero

WWE Superstars on WWE.com
Taped earlier in Providence, RI and Uniondale, NY.

Ryan's Rant: I apologize for the delay, WWE did not post the video when they were supposed to do so.

Scott Stanford and Josh Matthews welcomed us to the show.

Zack Ryder got a huge ovation when he came out. He cut a quick promo about how his girlfriend is hot and how the Ryder revolution is just beginning. He asked who wanted to be the Broski of the week and then he quickly ran through his multitude of catch phrases. Primo then made his entrance.

1. Zack Ryder beat Primo in 9:11. The crowd went absolutely nuts for Ryder, who went for a quick roll-up. Ryder worked an armbar and the crowd chanted "Let's Go Ryder" non-stop. Primo messed up Ryder's hair and Ruder turned into Hulk Hogan and absolutely demolished Primo.

Primo went for a dropkick in the corner but Ryder moved and Primo got caught in the tree-of-woe. This quickly led to Primo getting his face stomped. Primo battled back, however, and sent Ryder to the floor as the show took its first break... [C]

Back from the break, Primo had Ryder in a chinlock, and the crowd was still chanting "Let's go Ryder!" Ryder tried to mount a comeback but Primo locked in an inverted STF on Primo. Pimo hit Ryder with a dropkick and taunted the crowd. Primo locked in another rets hold and Ryder again tried to battle out only to eat more offense from Primo.

Eventually, Ryder hit Primo with a clothesline out of nowhere. Ryder started working over Primo and the crowd lost their minds. Ryder hit the Broski Boot in the corner for a great near fall. Primo tried to come back with a jawbreaker but Ryder hit the Rough Ryder for the 1-2-3… [C]

Ryan's Rant: The crowd simply could not have been hotter for that match. Pull the trigger WWE, this kid is money. It looks like they are making him out to be a babyface, and I'm perfectly alright with that as this version of Ryder has a real Colt cabana feel to him. Highly entertaining match from start to finish, and I just hope they give Ryder an opportunity to go against someone with more credibility than Primo and do the same thing. By the way, the spot where Primo messed up Ryder's hair and he tore into him for it was awesome.

Drew McIntyre came out with a stick and cut a promo on Long Island and how he is the Chosen One. He put down America and talked about how he is choosing to become a nightmare for the WWE Universe. He said from now on he's the Great American Nightmare. Um, ok. Kozlov then made his entrance.

2. Drew McIntyre beat Vladimir Kozlov in 3:53. Drew went aggressive early and worked Kozlov over in the corner. It was short-lived, however, as Kozlov quickly suplexed Drew all over the ring. Drew came back with a stiff kick to Kozlov's head. He then began to work over Kozlov's arms with the steel post and a codebreaker to the arm.

Kozlov eventually came back and worked over McIntyre with a series of kicks, but Drew quickly took out the legs of Kozlov before hitting the Future Shock DDT for the victory… [C]

Ryan's Rant: That was one hell of a letdown following the Ryder/Primo match. Kozlov's moves lack a certain impact for a man his size, and there was not enough time for Drew to do what he does best, which is work over a particular body part like his sadistic character should.

Jack Korpela and Matt Striker checked in at ringside.

3. Yoshi Tatsu defeated Chavo Guerrero in 4:12. Yoshi took early control with arm drags, but Chavo eventually backed him into a corner and beat him down with strikes. Chavo ran across the ring at a sitting Tatsu and hit him with a rolling senton.

Yoshi then made a comeback with some Flair chops and kick combinations. Yoshi went to the top and missed. Chavo capitalized and hit him with a huge dropkick. Chavo went for Three Amigos but only got two of them. Tatsu quickly nailed Chavo with the Buzzsaw and took the victory… [C]

Ryan's Rant: Now the show feels like Superstars again. There was nothing really of note in that match, but there wasn't anything particularly wrong with it either. It was just another forgettable filler match on WWE Superstars.

The announcers ran through the Capitol Punishment card.

JTG then made his entrance with stick in hand. JTG called Rhode Island the "city of haters." Rhode Island is a city now? Ok, JTG. Apparently he's a heel now as JTG talked about hunger and how he's the fly-est Superstars and soon to be fly-est manager in WWE. Tyson Kidd then made his entrance, followed shortly by Kane… [C]

4. Kane beat Tyson Kidd (w/JTG) in 4:21. Kane waste no time in tossing Kidd across the ring. Tyson tried to whip Kane but the big man threw Tyson to the floor. Tyson got a hotshot on the way back into the ring but ate an uppercut the minute he got in the ring.

Tyson tried to battle back by going to the top but Kane caught him. Kane tried to hit a tilt-o-whirl slam but Tyson reversed it into a tornado DDT. Kane quickly came back with a sidewalk slam and took his own turn going to the top with a flying clothesline. Kane then hit the Chokeslam for the win.

Ryan's Rant: And Superstars ends on a low note. The guys tried, but their styles and sizes simply conflicted with each other too much and with JTG as a manager, you had to know Tyson wasn't going to do anything impressive.

Overall, this show was just bad. Ryder lit the place on fire in the first match and then the rest of the matches did their best to kill that high. Thanks for following along with me and I will see you all next week.
