6/7 Shore's WWE NXT Live Coverage: JTG hosts a live Straight Out of Brooklyn, Darren Young and Chavo Guerrero vs. Vladimir Kozlov and Conor O'Brian, and Titus O'Neal vs. Lucky Cannon
Jun 7, 2011 - 09:00 PM

By Chris Shore

WWE NXT on WWE.com
Taped earlier in Roanoke, Vir.

A video recapped the Lucky Cannon and Maryse storyline…The opening video aired and Todd Grisham and William Regal checked in on commentary before sending it up to JTG who was in the ring with graffiti covered Trash cans.

JTG welcomed everyone to Straight out of Brooklyn. I can't understand JTG most of the time, but basically he put himself over and introduced Yoshi Tatsu as his guest. Yoshi made his ring entrance and they sat on stools.

Shore’s Slant: Wait, nobody ever sits down on these shows. What the hell?

JTG asked Yoshi if it was his fault Byron Saxton was eliminated last week. He cut Yoshi off when he tried to answer and said Saxton told him that if he had been his pro, Saxton would have won. He asked Yoshi if Yoshi's relationship with Maryse wad the problem. He cut Yoshi off again and said Maryse wanted to get with him because he had a "Big, big, big…bank account." He said Yoshi had a "Little, little, little…"

Yoshi snatched the mic out of his hands and said, "This show should be called 'Straight out of Yo Momma.'" I shit you not. JTG kind of laughed and outrode Yoshi. When Yoshi turned his back, JTG clubbed him from behind and fled the ring. Matt Striker came out and booked JTG vs. Yoshi for next…[C]

1. Yoshi Tatsu defeated JTG in 6:00. The match was joined in progress with JTG hitting a hiptoss. JTG worked the body in-between Yoshi's moments of hope. Yoshi flipped out of a back suplex lift to hit a sudden roundhouse kick for the pinfall victory…

The NXT vote opens tomorrow at noon…[C]

Shore’s Slant: That may have been the best JTG match I have ever seen since he went solo. This show is so bad and random that I'm having a hard time caring much about it, but it was fair to meddling.

Back from commercial, the announce team setup the stupid Capitol Punishment video…Backstage, Conor O'Brian tried to talk Hornswoggle up to break a board with his head. Horny tried twice and failed. Titus O'Neil walked up and drove Horny through the board like a battering ram. Vladimir Kozlov said, "He made it a win." They all stood around laughing at the joke…[C]

Shore’s Slant: MY EYES!!! MY EYES!! THE PAIN, OH MY GOD THE PAIN!

2. Chavo Guerrero and Darren Young defeated Vladimir Kozlov and Conor O'Brian at 12:21. Kozlov and Young started. Kozlov bumped both heels around and tagged in O'Brian. Young hit a cheap shot and the heels took control. They spilled O'Brian to the floor and drove him into the rail…[C]

Back from commercial, O'Brian made the hot tag to Kozlov. Kozlov destroyed Young, but Chavo distracted him and Young clipped the leg. The heels worked in and out and focused on Kozlov's legs. Kozlov finally made the hot tag to O'Brian who cleaned up on Young and covered.

Chavo broke the count and then took out a charging Kozlov. O'Brian took out Chavo, which allowed Young to hit his finisher for the pinfall victory…[C]

Shore’s Slant: One of our correspondents said there were a ton of blown spots in this match. I didn't see them, but I only have what the produced let me see so if that's true, kudos for hiding it well. Another decent match, but with no story and no reason to care, I just want to go to sleep.

3. Titus O'Neil (w/Hornswoggle) defeated Lucky Cannon (w/Tyson Kidd and Maryse) at 5:18. Regal made a point of telling us Maryse's purse was worth $3500. Titus took early control but Cannon hit a cheap shot to take control. He spilled Titus to the floor and wouldn't let him in the ring.

On the other side, Hornswoggle offered Maryse a jewelry case. She opened it and held up a candy bracelet. Hornswoggle wrapped himself around her leg and wouldn't let go. Cannon stuck his head through the ropes and told Hornswoggle to let go. Maryse shoved Hornswoggle away and he grabbed the purse, ripping it in half. Maryse yelled at Cannon and hit him with the destroyed purse. Titus hit his finisher for the win…

Shore’s Slant: According to my wife, that purse would not have torn like that if it was worth $3500. And based on Maryse's reaction, I'm willing to bet they are going with "Lucky bought Maryse some knockoffs." Sound fun, yeah? No, not really. I'll have more to say tomorrow on the hitlist. Thanks for reading and I will see you then.
