5/30 Shore's WWE Tough Enough Live Coverage: The final three celebrate their survival as a former contestant makes a guest appearance
May 30, 2011 - 07:00 PM

By Chris Shore

Tough Enough on USA Network
Taped in Simi Valley, Cali.

[Q1] A video recapped last week's show and Christina's and AJ's elimination…Jeremiah and Luke partied in the house while waiting for Andy to return. Andy gave a very serious confessional about his chances as the other two continued to party…The opening video aired…

The top three went to the gym and met the trainers. Bill DeMott said there was no theme, they were just going to throw things at them. Trish added that they would be fine tuning. Andy botched an up and over in the corner and got chewed by the trainers.

Luke and Andy botched a leap frog, and then Jeremiah and Luke botched a series and bumped heads. The trainers called them all shit sandwiches and sent them back to the house…Miz was hyped for next…[C]

Shore's Slant: It shocks me they can't remember a series like that. I don't claim to know what it's like to be in the ring, but it seems to be if I was a wrestler I would be able to remember a series of moves. Of course there's a reason why none of these guys have made the big show already.

[Q2] Austin, Trish and Miz were in the Smashbox Studios shooting a photo shoot when the contestants came in. Austin said they were going to learn a little about what the WWE life is like away from the ring. Miz said media was important now because they didn't wear fanny packs and Zoomba pants anymore.

Shore's Slant: That's why he's awesome folks.

Everybody got makeovers and Luke went first. He did very well, showing his "natural ego." Andy was very awkward at first, but Miz gave him some pointers and he did OK. Jeremiah took shots with and without his teeth. Miz flipped out over it a little. He shook hands and left, reminding them all he was awesome…[C]

Shore's Slant: Pretty standard reality makeover spot there. Andy is the most boring. Jeremiah is the most interesting. But I'm pretty sure Luke has this one locked up.

Back in the gym, Booker T pointed out they were all in the bottom three. The trainers ran them through drills. Andy took some good pointers and looked good. Luke hit a great drop kick that DeMott jazzed over. Jeremiah was told to slow down a little and looked very good as well…

Austin took the contestants to the Mattel Children's Hospital and had a medical professional (she might have been a doctor, I missed it) take them around to meet sick kids. Austin signed autographs and all of the contestants talked with the kids…

Shore's Slant: It's all fluff right now. The kid stuff was sweet, and I'm very happy that WWE did that. But it's not very exciting to watch, especially when they didn't do the serious music with it.

[Q3][C] Austin called out a series of moves that they would each do, but the trainers were told to keep quiet because this was their final look. Trish put over Andy. Booker put over Luke. DeMott put over Jeremiah. Jeremiah did an interesting top elbow drop that impressed the trainers with its complexity, but he didn't quite nail it. He also botched a hip toss and Austin wondered if he was too green. He sent them all back to pack for the final elimination…[C]

Shore's Slant: That was a neat run. I think a lot of people who are watching this that don't watch wrestling will appreciate the in-ring skill more the next time they watch wrestling. That's ultimately a good thing as that's hopefully what they will clamor for. WWE could use an upgrade in in-ring action.

The three guys ate dinner, packed their bags, toasted their success, and went to the gym for elimination. There was no formal discussion among the trainers this week. Austin joined them in the ring and said someone was going home tonight.

He started with Jeremiah and asked him about his military service. Jeremiah talked about serving in Afghanistan and Austin called him Jack of All Trades, Master of None. Austin told Andy he was mentally weak. He asked Andy what he thought of that. Andy said it was bullshit. He said it had been mentally tough leaving his family.

Austin asked Jeremiah about his family and Jeremiah said Andy was weak. He asked Jeremiah if he was tougher than Andy and Jeremiah said yes. He asked about Luke and Jeremiah said, "Absolutely." Austin called Luke a pretty boy and said that was all he had to offer. Luke tried to list his strengths and Austin kept needling him.

[Q4] Austin asked him about helping Jeremiah and Luke said Jeremiah getting to the end was a win for Luke. Austin said it could also be Luke's loss…[C]

Shore's Slant: Poor Luke. I can't imagine what it's like to face down the Rattlesnake like that. It has to be the most intimidating feeling of his life.

Luke said Jeremiah was the arrogant one. Jeremiah said maybe that was true. Luke said he had the best skills challenge today. Austin asked Andy if Luke had any chance in the business and Andy said "zero." Austin asked why and Andy said he was a weasel. Austin said Luke was twitchy and Luke argued. They cut it to make Luke look even twitchier.

Austin finally decided to cut Jeremiah, because he was so green. He said it finally caught up to him and the skill set passed him by. Austin said "this green ass rookie" almost eliminated Luke and Andy. Jeremiah gave his final confessional and walked out.

Austin told the remaining two that the next time they saw each other would be in FCW. He said they would each have a five minute exhibition in front of a live audience and WWE brass. He said whoever did the best would win. He shook both their hands and then gave then each two beers and they did the Austin beer toast to end the show…

Shore's Slant: I'm not wholly surprised to see Jeremiah go, but I did not think it would be him. Andy has a long way to go to beat Luke, but I think it's possible. We will know for sure in a week. Thanks for watching along tonight.
