5/16 Shore's WWE Tough Enough Live Coverage: The Divas pay a visit and go out on the town with the contestants, plus an injury
May 16, 2011 - 07:00 PM

By Chris Shore

Tough Enough on USA Network
Taped in Simi Valley, Cali.

A video recapped last week's show and Ivelisse's and Eric's eliminations…AJ returned to the house and told everyone about the double elimination. AJ said he was happy that he survived, but he knew he had to turn it up…The opening video aired…

Trish did yoga with Christina and talked with her about being the last girl and what she needs to do…Everybody went to the gym and Bill DeMott interacted with the group nicely and told Christina he was proud of her.

Austin came in and said the lesson this week was on creativity. He said he was looking for the contestants to be creative with a set of moves, but to do it safely. They started with a fireman's carry takedown. AJ was criticized for being timid. Jeremiah was criticized for being flat and "too MMA"…

Shore's Slant: Down to six and they are finally showing us a little more in the ring from the group. Somebody lands on their head on the floor here in a minute. This should be interesting.

The next move was tossing people out of the ring. Austin shit all over them for looking terrible going over. The trainers then turned on everyone for just being dead and boring. Andy hit Luke in the nose and then nearly killed him throwing him out of the ring. Luke put it over as one of the scariest moments of his life…

DeMott told everyone they were disappointing and the other trainers piled on. Andy watched a video of his little girl walking and then called his wife for an unexciting conversation…

A stretch SUV limo pulled up and The Bella Twins, Eve and Kelly Kelly piled out and met Trish. Trish said she brought them in to teach the group how to decompress. Trish took the Divas to meet everyone and the guys were showering. The Bellas acted slutty. You're shocked, I know.

Everyone got ready and they piled into the limo. Jeremiah latched on to the Bellas and laid it on thick as they went to a Chinese restaurant. Jeremiah offered to get everyone's drinks and Andy refused. He said he promised his wife he wouldn't drink while he was there. Luke punked him for it in an interview.

The Divas talked to the contestants and offered their advice and thoughts. Jeremiah and Luke let one of the Bellas slap the shit out of them, and then slapped each other. Everyone seemed to have a good time and toasted the evening…[C]

Shore's Slant: So far this has been the lamest episode. It's not been bad, but just blah. I hate to say that when the Divas are the guests, but it's true. This has not been all that exciting of a first half of show.

The contestants were taken to THQ headquarters and told they would work with a THQ designer to create their perfect wrestler for WWE All Stars. Jeremiah created "The Natural" and Christina created "Mikala". AJ created "Jaxon Crash" and Luke created "Legend." Martin created "BetterThanU" and Andy created "Silent Rage."

Each person had to explain to Austin what the thought process was behind their characters and why they picked what they picked for their characters. The THQ president picked Luke as the best character. Austin sent them back to the ranch for a two hour training session…[C]

Shore's Slant: ZZzzzzzzzzz……hm? Oh, are they done plugging their video game yet and gone back to creating new wrestlers? This show has been terrible tonight.

The gym was in heavy shadows to emphasize it was at night. Everyone was doing well and getting good feedback from the trainers, but AJ got called out big time for not looking intense or creative. They were running in and out of the ring and doing covers on each other. Martin twisted his ankle getting out of the ring and could not continue.

Martin tried to walk on it and couldn't. The trainer convinced him to get an X-ray. Booker and DeMott put Martin over and said they hoped he wasn't hurt…[C]

Shore's Slant: That was the injury! Are you serious, bro? I mean, I don't want anybody to get hurt, but they made this out to be a big deal. A twisted ankle getting out of the ring? What a freak occurrence.

The next morning, Luke pointed out that Martin had not made it back and kind of buried him. The remaining five did calisthenics in the gym and Martin came in on crutches with his belt on. He broke his leg and the doctor would not let him continue. Martin looked like he might cry any second.

Luke and AJ put over how bad they felt for Martin. Austin had Martin come back to his office. Austin talked to him about how it was when he broke his neck and had to leave. He told Martin it was part of the business.

Austin pointed to the wall where the eliminated contestant's belts hung. He said he took those belts from people who weren't Tough Enough. He said he wouldn't take his because he thought Martin was Tough Enough. He had Martin hand his belt on the wall. Martin hugged everyone and said his goodbyes. They applauded for him as he left…[C]

Austin had DeMott introduce the creative skills challenge. They had two minutes to do their thing. The only caveat was they had to do a top rope move. DeMott pumped up Christina and sent her into the ring with AJ. Christian did well and went for her top rope move.

I can't really describe what happened because I looked away for a split second, but basically AJ screwed up and Christina landed on her foot badly. She screamed and they had to get a medic to take her to the hospital. Austin said there was no elimination this week and sent everyone else back to the house…

Shore's Slant: I saw Christina's fall, but I didn't see how she missed AJ, that's why I can't describe it. Now I feel bad for complaining about Martin's weak fracture. That was crazy. The bulk of this episode was boring, but I sure am enticed to tune in next week. At least they cut this the right way. I think Luke is the odds on favorite now for sure, with Jeremiah as the dark horse. Thanks for watching along with me tonight.
