5/3 Shore's WWE NXT Live Coverage: Still no eliminations this week, Chavo Guerrero vs. his rookie, and will William Regal finally get his hands on Jacob Novak?
May 3, 2011 - 09:00 PM

By Chris Shore

WWE NXT on WWE.com
Taped earlier in Orlando, Fl.

The opening video aired and Todd Grisham, William Regal and Titus O'Neil welcomed us to the show. Oh joy, Titus on commentary…

1. Chavo Guerrero defeated Darren Young with Hornswoggle as special referee at 9:24. Chavo said Young had an illegal boot and Hornswoggle made Young take his shoe off. He tossed it to ringside and Hornswoggle called for the bell. Chavo took early control and worked the exposed foot. Young came back and tried for a cover, but Hornswoggle acted like he didn't see it. Chavo clotheslined Young over the top and hit a plancha…[C]

Back from commercial, Young fought out of the corner and knocked Chavo to the floor. He rolled Chavo back in the ring and attempted several pinfalls but Hornswoggle either wouldn't count or counted slow. Chavo fought back and hooked for Three Amigos. Young reversed into a northern lights suplex, but knocked down Horny in the process. Horny refused to count, and when Young yelled at him, he bit Young on the ass. Chavo hit Three Amigos and the frog splash for the win…

Shore’s Slant: An OK match. The Hornswoggle stuff annoys me, but nine minutes on NXT is pretty good. Chavo made Young look very good here.

A video from "recorded earlier" showed Vladimir Kozlov teaching Conor O'Brian how to break boards over his head…[C]

2. Lucky Cannon (w/Tyson Kidd) defeated Conor O'Brian (w/Vladimir Kozlov) at 4:17. Regal shit all over Jacob Novak and JTG through the match. Conor dominated most of the match, but Kidd grabbed his foot to distract him and Cannon hit his finisher for the win…

A video recapped Kharma's destruction of Maryse. Backstage, Yoshi Tatsu was watching the video. Byron Saxton walked in and Tatsu squared off. Saxton told him to calm down and apologized for the attack last week.

He said he wanted to talk to him about something and Yoshi blew him off to call Maryse. Saxton snatched the phone out of his hand and yelled at Yoshi for ignoring him. He said he was going it alone until Yoshi got his personal life together…[C]

JTG and Jacob Novak made their ring entrance. JTG introduced Novak who said when you are an announcer, you mean nothing, so he was going to do Regal a favor and make him famous.

Regal came out with a mic and said Novak shouldn't be interested in what people think. He said he was going to stretch him out and called JTG a moppet. JTG went off and said he was going to show Big Bird how they do it on Sesame Street. Regal said he had no idea what he said, but if it meant they were switching, that was fine. He said JTG was a waste of space…

3. William Regal defeated JTG (w/Jacob Novak) by disqualification in 6:00 . Regal got the best of JTG several times and JTG would roll to the floor. JTG managed to get a couple of strikes in and then choked him on the rope. Novak got in some cheap shots and Regal went nuts. JTG went to the floor and Regal followed. He hit Novak and went after JTG. We have a storm and the power flashed for a just a second, but enough to kill my router. When I got the feed back Regal had won by DQ when Novak interfered…[C]

A video recapped the Rock's birthday party and time on Raw to end the show…

Shore’s Slant: Bigger storm tonight (for us) than when those crazy ass storms came through last week. Sorry I missed the end, but Regal made JTG seem almost serviceable tonight. Not quite, but almost. I'll have more to say tomorrow on the hitlist. Thanks for reading and I'll see you then.
