5/2 Shore's WWE Tough Enough Live Coverage: Rey Mysterio and John Salley make a guest appearance to discuss teamwork, Stone Cold whips the bottom three with his words
May 2, 2011 - 07:00 PM

By Chris Shore

Tough Enough on USA Network
Taped in Simi Valley, Cali.

[Q1] A video recapped last week's show and Rima's elimination…The trainers woke the group with air horns and megaphones. They met on the field and had to run an obstacle course. They were all over Skid Marks and Eric. Ivelisse had real problems. Luke and Jeremiah seemed to look the best. After they were finished, they were sent to the gym where Rey Mysterio waited for them.

Austin introduced him and said this week's lesson was on teamwork. Rey put over having to work together and answered a few questions before leaving. DeMott had the contestants do 10 body slams with a heavy bag. Martin started and continued to impress.

Ryan tripped getting in the ring and DeMott wouldn’t let him work. Ivelisse continued to struggle. They then had the contestants running the ropes together. Ivee and Christina worked together. Christian was supposed to do a leap frog, but she ended up hitting Ivee in the face. The show went to commercial as Booker called for a medic…[C]

Shore's Slant: Rapid start to the show to keep it high energy. Some of the things they have the guys do look unbelievable hard.

[Q2] Ivee didn't hurt her face as much as her hamstring. They continued to work the guys and Skid Marks continued to screw up. DeMott and Booker shit on him while Trish tried to help him, but even Trish said he continues to make the same mistakes.

Trish gathered the two women and talked to them about how they are looking bad. She told them they had to bring it every chance they get. Christina said she thought Ivelisse thought she was trying to sabotage her…[C]

The contestants were sent to a basketball court where John Salley was waiting. A bunch of midgets dribbled out. Salley said he was coaching the contestants and Booker was coaching the little guys. The rookies started out strong, and then the dwarves turned it on. The little guys won 36-20. John Salley gave the rookies a 4 out of 10 on teamwork…[C]

Shore's Slant: That was kind of lame. I'm not sure what they learned, and it didn't really entertain that much. The first bad segment I've seen since the show started. Pretty good average.

[Q3] Back in the training room, Booker T was talking to the group and Skid Marks rolled his eyes. Booker snatched him off the ground, ripping his shirt. He cussed him out and said not to confuse his kindness for weakness.

Austin came in and said their skill test would be on teamwork, but they would be rated individually. He had them works in teams of three running through series. Martin looked good in the first group. Both Ivelisse and Christina stunk in the second group and AJ went on. Out of Luke, Skidmarks and Eric, Skidmarks did the best and moved forward. Luke was not pleased.

Martin, Ryan and AJ went nonstop on the series. Ryan shit the bed almost immediately and was eliminated. AJ got gassed first, and Martin won again for the third week in a row. Luke pitched a fit in a video and said that he was graded unfairly because he had set the bar too high. The trainers retired to determine the bottom three…

Shore's Slant: My only problem with this show is they need to show a little more of the in-ring stuff for those hardcore fans watching. Martin may have been the king shot of turn island tonight, but we don't see enough to make that same opinion. If this comes back for a season two, I would try showing more of the challenges to allow the audience to decide if they like a guy or not.

The trainers were down on Ivelisse, Christina and Ryan. They were disappointed in Luke for his failure to "step-up." No one else was discussed. The came back to the ring and Austin announced the bottom three of Christina, Ryan and Luke. Ruh-roh. Austin asked him if he was eye-balling him. Luke said, "No sir," and Austin said he hoped not.

[Q4] The bottom three packed their bags and talked with the other rookies. Luke put over that he shouldn't be in the bottom three because he was the best of the group…[C]

Shore's Slant: Austin said they were going to have a "Come to Jesus meeting." My kids ran from the room because they know what that means when I say it. I'll do my best, but expect me to miss plenty of what sounds like a SCSA rant to come.

Austin joined the bottom three in the ring and said it was about to be a bad day for someone. He asked Christina to tell him something about her. She said she was a dancer and had only been wrestling for eight months. Austin asked her about being a dancer and unable to do a leap frog. Austin asked her when she was going to show the athleticism she should have as a dancer.

He asked Luke if he deserved to be there. Luke said he hasn't had a bad day since they had arrived. Austin asked him if he took Jeremiah under his wing and Luke said yes. Austin said Jeremiah was out performing him. He walked over to Ryan, threw up his hands and walked away.

Austin asked Christina if Luke was tough enough. She said he was physically tough enough but he was immature and insecure and wouldn't do well in a locker room. Austin asked Luke if that was true and Luke said he loved himself. Austin said he knew that, and he had a problem with people who thought their shit didn't stink.

Austin called Luke a dip shit and antagonized him. He told him he couldn't do anything about it and to stand there with his collar flipped up and the gel in his head. He told him to shut up and told Ryan he was in the bottom three for the third time, and that meant three strikes and he was out. He told Christina to start taking bigger steps and told Luke he needed to see more. Ryan gave his goodbye speech and Austin said you just couldn't be in the bottom three for three times and not be gone…

Shore's Slant: I don't know if Luke was working or not, but he seemed awful pissed off with Austin. That should be fun to watch going forward. The right person went home here. I defended the two times Ryan made it, but it was his time here. We are down to eight, and hopefully we will learn more about each of the remaining contestants as we go forward. Thanks for watching along tonight.
