2/15 Shore's WWE NXT Live Coverage: The final three begin the trek to the end. Will Brodus Clay finally kill Johnny Curtis tonight?
Feb 15, 2011 - 09:00 PM

WWE NXT on SyFy
Taped earlier in San Diego, Calif.

The opening video aired and Josh Matthews and Todd Grisham tossed it to Matt Striker in the ring. Striker introduced the piñata challenge or something. I think it was called the Smash and Grab challenge. Brodus Clay won. Why the hell am I watching this? The announce team hyped Clay vs. R-Truth for next…[C]

Shore’s Slant: We're just going to pretend it didn't happen and move on, OK? Hey, if WWE can do it with Benoit I can do it here.

1. Brodus Clay (w/Ricardo Rodriguez) defeated R-Truth (w/Johnny Curtis) at 2:48. Clay charged and Truth pulled the rope down. He hit a dive on the floor and then kicked Clay into Ric Rod. Back in the ring, Truth worked punches in the corner, but Clay tossed him down and went to work. Clay hit a big splash for the win…

Shore’s Slant: If I somehow ever get a job with WWE, remind me to always know what city I am in. Truth jobs to a rookie in sub-three minutes? Wow.

The next challenge was the Save Yourself Trivia Challenge. The guys sat on a stool in a tub with a bucket over their heads. It was a Jeopardy type game. It was so stupid I don't have words for it. Clay one and the other two were slimed. Grisham said, "You can't do that on television." The announce team hyped voting opening tomorrow at noon…

Shore’s Slant: Oh my god. Please kill me. Please, I beg of you.

A video recapped the Rock's return on Raw…Daniel Bryan made his ring entrance…

2. Daniel Bryan defeated Derrick Bateman at 8:42. They followed the code of honor and Ziggler called them out on it. The pros made stupid comments throughout the match which consisted of a 3 minute arm bar spot to start. Bateman finally shoved Bryan to the floor and hit a suicide dive…[C]

Back at 5:25, Bryan hit a clothesline for two. He continued to put a clinic on with Bateman and went to the top. He posed and missed the flying head-butt. Bateman hit a vicious clothesline for a near fall, and followed with a powerbomb out of a kickout for another near fall.

Bryan hit a superkick and walked over to Bateman. Bateman grabbed the arm and tried to hook the LaBell lock. They rolled around for a moment and Bryan flipped over and hooked the LaBell lock for the submission win. Post-match Bryan celebrated with Bateman and they shook hands as the announce team hyped voting for next week's elimination…

Shore’s Slant: I can't believe I had to stay up for this. How bad was it when the best part of the show was something I was watching for the second time? The main event was an OK match after the break, but they held that arm bar in the beginning like they were going 20 minutes. This show stinks. I'll have more to say tomorrow on the hitlist. Thanks for reading and I'll see you then.
