12/16 Hermanstyne's WWE Superstars Live Coverage: Zack Ryder vs. Darren Young, JTG vs. Curt Hawkins, Drew McIntyre vs. Yoshi Tatsu
Dec 16, 2010 - 07:00 PM

WWE Superstars on WGN America
Taped in Lafayette and New Orleans, Louisiana

By Marv Hermanstyne

[Q1] The opening montage aired and we were welcomed by the team Jack Korpela and Matt Striker.

Mind of Marv: I can tell I haven’t watch or covered this show in a while (hell I don’t even DVR this shit anymore), but who the hell is the Korpela guy?

1. JTG beat Curt Hawkins in 10:10. JTG started the match with a neck snap to a side head lock to Hawkins and covered for the one count. Hawkins came back with a mouthshot to JTG. JTG went for the Mugshot but Hawkins countered by tossing him over and JTG slammed his head on the side of the ring.

Hawkins worked on JTG’s back and covered for a one count.
Hawkins suplexed JTG for a nearfall. Hawkins kneed JTG to apply more pain to his back. Both men clotheslined each other to the break...[C]

The show returned with Hawkins working on JTG’s neck and covering for a nearfall. JTG hit a uppercut and an atomic drop to Hawkins. Hawkins missed the Heat Seeking elbow and JTG got momentum from the crowd. JTG hit the Mugshot for a nearfall. Hawkins went for a bulldog but JTG hit the Shout Out for the win.

Mind of Marv: This match was boring as hell. Hawkins can work but JTG makes Karl Malone during his WCW days look like a better wrestler...

Highlights of week 2 of NXT season 2 was shown with Byron Saxton botching HBK’s theme in the karaoke contest and the stupid obstacle course was shown...

Mind of Marv: If this was a time to see HBK hit Sweet Chin Music, this was the time to hit it on Saxton...

Tatsu and McIntyre is the main event tonight...[C] [Q2]

The show returned with C.M. Punk and Scott Samford on commentary...

2. Zack Ryder defeated Darren Young in 5:00. The match began with a lot of pushing around and Young used his power by hitting a clothesline and shoulderblock. Young hit some blows but Ryder hit a high kick to Young. Ryder toyed with Young in the corner and slingshotted him in the corner for a nearfall. Ryder applied a side headlock and Young powered out. Ryder hit a big boot to Young for a nearfall.

Ryder hit a neckbreaker for a nearfall. Ryder hit a big boot to Young in the corner for a nearfall. Ryder applied a rear chinlock to Young in the middle of the ring. Young came back with a belly to belly throw to Ryder. Young hit a flying shoulderblock, an inverted Atomic Drop and a gutbuster for a nearfall. Ryder hit the Ruff Ryder for the win...

Mind of Marv: A five-minute forgettable match which was slightly better than watching my Bears get blitzed by the Patriots on Sunday. Young is terrible and he needs more seasoning in FCW. Sure he’s the black John Cena with a mini-fro, but that’s all he has to offer...

The main event was hyped again...[C] [Q3]

Alberto Del Rio was shown in a hype video...

Mind of Marv: Watch Smackdown tomorrow because something interesting will occur and I will not give any spoilers away....

The Raw Rebound was shown and the TLC card was run down. Drew McIntyre and his 45 minute entrance graced our presence. He faces Tatsu in a SD vs. Raw match, next. [C]

[Q4] 3. Drew McIntyre pinned Yoshi Tatsu in 14:15. Drew started scrappy with Tatsu and the match finally picked up around the 1:30 mark. Drew hit a shoulderblock to Tatsu and Tatsu countered with chops to Drew. Drew got aggressive at first but Yoshi countered with kicks to Drew. Yoshi missed a kick and Drew went outside of the ring. Yoshi attacked Drew and Drew countered by slamming Yoshi’s shoulder on the side of the ring. [C]

The show returned with Drew applying a cross armbar to Tatsu. Tatsu came back with a Flying Crucifix for a nearfall. Drew toyed with Tatsu and went back to the armbar. Tatsu came back with kicks but Drew hit a armbar DDT for a nearfall. Tatsu hit a nice dropkick to knock Drew outside of the ring. Drew went back in the ring and got thrown into the ring post by Tatsu. Tatsu chopped and hit a spinning heel kick for a nearfall.

Tatsu hit a high kick and went to the top rope for a spinning high kick but Tatsu missed and Drew hit the Future Shock DDT for the win...

Mind of Marv: I don’t know if I wanted to cry because this match was so average to boring or because it so damn cold outside. But anyway, nothing memorable about this matchup and I will have more to say in the hitlist tomorrow...
