[Q1] The show started with a video describing the Undertaker’s demise and why he was buried alive at the PPV. Taker was shown opening an door and he walked into the light...

Meanwhile in the arena, Kane and Paul Bearer was by Taker’s grave and got a ton of heat from the crowd. Kane said the saga was over and he has proven his dominance of Taker for the final time. Kane said that Taker is never coming back because he buried him. He said its going to be talk about plots, conspiracy theories, and other things but Taker is gone for good because of him. He said now that Taker is gone with the darkside and agony, he wants everyone to thank him.

Kane wants everyone to thank him for all the false hope Taker brought to everyone’s meaningless lives. He said everyone is clinging to a shred of hope for Taker’s return and talked about Taker rotting and he said he was the world champ. He put himself over and called himself the devil’s favorite demon. He said the time for mourning is now and everyone should stand up and bow their heads for Taker because they will never see him again.

Alberto Del Rio came out with an old school Excalibur care and Kane looked stupefied in the ring. Del Rio said he never had an opportunity to wrestle for the world title and he put himself over. Kane asked Del Rio if he was out of his mind and Del Rio attacked Kane. Rey Mysterio came out and chased off Del Rio. Rey hit the 619 on Paul Bearer and Kane threw him out. Edge came out and speared Kane. [C]

Mind of Marv: Good opening segment. Del Rio looks like they are pushing him to the main event and Kane is still money on the mic. The problem is that they need to get the title off Kane because he’s becoming a boring champion...

Del Rio was speaking Spanish and Long told him to speak English. Del Rio demanded to become #1 contender and Teddy Long made the triple threat match between Del Rio, Edge and Mysterio. Del Rio said he’ll prove that he will become number one contender.

[Q2] Dolph Ziggler came out with Vickie wearing a Leopard costume and footage was shown from Bryan defeating Dolph on Raw...

1. United States Champion Daniel Bryan defeated Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) in a champion vs. champion non-title match in 13:10. Dolph did a quick takedown for a quick cover for a nearfall and took the early advantage. Dolph focused on Bryan’s jaw with kicks and punches. Dolph hit a dropkick to Bryan for a nearfall and slammed his head into the ring. Dolph applied a headlock to Bryan and both men exchanged blows in the middle of the ring until Bryan hit instant offense and hit with an flying punch from the top rope. [C]

The show returned with Bryan hitting a sick kick. Dolph hit a Rocker Dropper to Bryan and Cole cracked lame ass jokes about Bryan. Both men went for suplexes, but both men threw each other outside of the ring. Both men beat the ten count and Dolph punched Bryan. Bryan headbutted Dolph and they both exchanged blows. Both men hit nice kicks to each other. Bryan tried the LeBell Lock but Dolph catapulted Bryan in the corner. Dolph threw Bryan into the referee and Dolph hit the Zig Zag on Bryan.

Vickie came in and tried to be the referee, but her decision didn’t matter and Bryan hit an nice kick to Dolph for the win. Dolph and Vickie whined to the ref. Grisham hyped the triple threat match for later tonight. [C]

Mind of Marv: Let this be the end of this series for an while...Dolph did three straight jobs in a five day span. The match was good, but it just got watered down because it was excellent at Bragging Rights and became watered down the third time around.

[Q3] Backstage, Paul Bearer was interviewed by Mathews. Bearer talked about Edge, Del Rio, and Mysterio paying for what they did and Kane was breathing heavy. The Stand Up for WWE Campaign was shown...

Kelly Kelly was in her costume and Rhodes was being his “dashing” self. Big Show walked in challenged Rhodes to a tag team match for later tonight. Show was being funny with a Scottish accent (mocking Drew) and basically told Rhodes to get a partner for an match later on...[C]

[Q4] 2. Jack Swagger (w/Eagle) defeated Kaval in 4:00. Kaval hit some nice kicks to start the match but Swagger powered out for a one count. Swagger splashed on Kaval for a nearfall. Swagger applied an bearhug and Kaval headbutted his way out. Kaval was in a electric chair position and hit a nasty running kick and a missile dropkick to Swagger’s head for a nearfall. Kaval hit a nice Pele kick and stomp to Swagger for a nearfall.

Swagger slammed Kaval’s ankle in the ringpost and cloheslined him. Swagger made Kaval tap with the Ankle Lock...

The Divas Halloween Costume Contest is next...[C]

Footage was shown of the opening segment and the triple threat main event was hyped again. Teddy Long and Hornswoggle was in the ring. Long cut a Halloween promo and hyped the costume contest.

The Bella Twins was Batman and Robin, Alicia Fox was Cleopatra, Kelly Kelly was Lil Bo Peep, Rosa Mendes was an Leprechaun, Melina was Spiderwoman and LayCool was was Beyonce and Lady Gaga...

Mind of Marv: Do I really have to deal with this? Sigh.

Long said the winner of the contest will be determined by the WWE Universe and McCool interupted and said that they won the contest already. Melina and LayCool was horsing around and Long said instead of having a winner, they will have a eight Diva tag match.

[Q5] 3. The Bella Twins, Kelly Kelly, and Melina beat Divas Champions LayCool, Rosa Mendes, and Alicia Fox in 6:00. Layla did a horrible Beyonce impersonation and the Bellas attacked McCool. The babyfaces worked on Fox with elbows and Melina botched a split. Melina hit an armdrag into a split on Fox... [C]

The show returned with the babyfaces dominating Rosa Mendes and all the Divas attacked each other. Kelly hit the K2 for the win on Rosa...

Mind of Marv: Besides Kelly looking great in the Little Bo Peep costume, there wasn’t nothing else to warrant any attention about this forgettable match...

Edge and Mysterio was backstage and they both cut generic promos about becoming number one contender...[C]

Drew and Cody came out and Drew cut a promo about the Nexus taking the titles and he called them pathetic. Cody said that they will known as the Dashing Ones...

[Q6] 4. Big Show and Kofi Kingston beat Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre in 8:10. Kofi and Drew started the match. Drew worked on Kofi’s neck and shoulderblocked him. Show tagged himself in and dominated Drew in the corner and in the middle of the ring with chops. Kofi tagged in a hit an elbow to Drew for a nearfall. Cody started to beat on Kofi but Kofi hit a headbutt and a rollup for a nearfall.

Drew slammed Kofi’s leg on the ringpost and announce table for a nearfall. The heels continued to attack Kofi’s legs and Cody used his knees to knock him out. Drew got back in the match and worked on Kofi’s knee. The heels continued with more beatings to Kofi and Cody applied an Texas Cloverleaf.

Kofi broke out and got the tag to Show and Show hit his instant offense to the heels. Cody was looking for help because Show was going to apply the Colossal Clutch but Drew backed off and Show hit a chokeslam for the win to Cody.

Mind of Marv: This was a slightly above average match considering that the heels looked strong and Kofi looked really weak. The crowd was really behind Show and Kofi, so maybe they can challenge the Nexus to the belts...

[Q7] Cody asked Drew asked what happened out there and Drew said that it was a giant out there. Drew and Cody argued about nothing and Cody said the Dashing Ones are over....

Mind of Marv: There goes another tag team...what the hell is the purpose of tag team wrestling in WWE now?

The WWE Reading Challenge video was shown. Alberto Del Rio, Rey Mysterio and Edge made their entrances...[C]

[Q8] 5. Edge defeated Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio to become No. 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship in 15:15. Del Rio clotheslined Rey and Edge attacked both of them. Edge tossed Rey out but Rey came back and knocked Edge. Del Rio threw Rey into the ring post and Edge rolled up Del Rio for a nearfall. Edge clotheslined Del Rio and he fell out. Rey hit an moonsault to both men... [C]

The show returned with Del Rio working on Rey’s leg for a nearfall. Rey hit a drop toe hold to Del Rio in the corner. Rey baseball slid Del Rio and Edge. Edge kicked Rey out and attacked Del Rio. Edge went for an suplex but Del Rio countered with a an hangman. Rey hit a moonsault to Edge for a nearfall. Del Rio got knocked out and Rey went for the 619 to Edge but Del Rio dragged Rey out.

Edge hit an impaler DDT to Del Rio for a nearfall. Del Rio hit an belly to back suplex to Edge for a nearfall. Edge went to the top rope but Rey pulled his leg. Del Rio applied his finisher to Rey, but Edge hit a leg drop to Del Rio for a nearfall. All three men somehow clotheslined each other. Rapid fire action occurred and Rey hit the 619 to Del Rio, but Edge speared Rey out of the ring and covered Del Rio for a nearfall.

Edge hit another Impaler DDT and Edge setup for the spear but there was rapid fire pinfalls after the Rodriguez interference. Rey set both men for the 619 and Rey went for Del Rio but Del Rio picked him up and Edge speared Del Rio with Rey on top of him for the win. Kane came out and posed with the belt to end the show...

Mind of Marv: Qualitiy main event that sent the crowd home happy. Even though I’m not a fan of triple threats, this was an fun match. Overall, a pretty good edition of Smackdown this week and I will have more to say in the hitlist on Saturday.
