10/12 Twilling's WWE NXT Live Coverage: The competition is down to five women, what's next for Kailtyn and Vickie Guerrero? Michael Cole will most likely make you laugh
Oct 12, 2010 - 09:00 PM

By Rich Twilling

WWE NXT on WWE.com
Taped earlier tonight in Portland, Oregon

[Q1] The opening video aired and Michael Cole welcomed us to the show. Matt Striker brought out the five remaining rookies. Josh Mathews checked in on commentary. They all had air horns in their hands...

Twill's Two Cents: Air horns? Most people watching the show wish to go blind, not deaf.

WWE Name That Tune is the competition tonight. WWE theme songs will be played and their air horns serve as buzzers. Sheamus, Teddy Long, Santino, Edge, John Cena, Kofi Kingston, The Miz, and Melina were the first many of them. A.J. got all but one of them.

Moving into round two, where for some reason the songs were worth more. A.J. got DX, Randy Orton, Zack Ryder, Dusty Rhodes, and Trish Stratus. Nobody guessed the Legion of Doom. A.J. got Vince McMahon's music correct. A.J. scored 1900 points, Naomi 100 points, and everyone else nothing...

Twill's Two Cents: Wow, she just kicked the crap out of everybody. At least we know she has paid attention to the shows. That's a start.

Naomi will face Alicia Fox tonight... [C]

1. Alicia Fox (with Maxine) defeated Naomi (with Kelly Kelly) in 4:01. Nice leapfrog and three dropkick series from Naomi. Alicia played possum and made that same referee look like an idiot that they always do...

Twill's Two Cents: Note to idiot referee: If someone, in a wrestling match, is hurt, you don't keep the opponent away. That is the point. Dumbass.

[Q2] Naomi looked good but missed a high cross body from the top rope. Alicia sort of hit the axe kick and was not happy, so Naomi kicked out and Alicia hit the move again for the win...

Twill's Two Cents: Solid work from both ladies, especially Naomi, who is very impressive in the ring with her athleticism.

Backstage, Goldust gave Aksana a pep talk about not being deported. He said he would take care of it. He then gave her tips for her match tonight... [C]

They have the "Power of the Punch" competition later in the show. However, they are also going to give promos with a topic of their own. Naomi called out Michael Cole. She talked pretty jive at Cole, who loved it and played along. Cole was better than Naomi.

A.J. gave a personal ad. She said she was single and wanted someone to come over and play video games with her. Kaitlyn's topic was "age before beauty." She said she and Dolph Ziggler got her a gift, her favorite perfume, Ben-Gay. Vickie is a cheesy fine wine.

Aksana hopes someone from immigration is watching. Her topic is "America." She put over America and thanked Christopher Columbus. Happy Columbus Day to everyone; a day to celebrate a great Italian. By the way, not sure why Aksana can't stay here; everyone else does.

Maxine's topic was "disrespect." She cut a promo on Hornswoggle and then said Kaitlyn was not lady-like like Vickie Guerrero was. Cole said that was one of the worst things he has ever sat through in his entire life, and we were only halfway through the show...

Twill's Two Cents: That did suck. A.J. was the only one that really stood out. I know Naomi tried to, but Cole stole that scene. That was basically a third competition on a show with too many competitions as it was.

The Raw Rebound was footage of The Miz beating John Cena and Cena's interaction with Wade Barrett last night... [C]

[Q3] The Bragging Rights WWE Championship match was hyped. Barrett looks funny in the graphic, like he is doing his best Derek Zoolander face...

Footage was shown of Kaitlyn defeating Vickie Guerrero last week. Kaitlyn was backstage throwing some punches that wouldn't have hurt anyone. Vickie approached her and they agreed to let bygones be bygones, as long as Kaitlyn stays away from Dolph Ziggler...

An ad for Big Show's movie, "Knucklehead," was shown...

Time for the "Power of the Punch" competition! Naomi set the pace with 801. A.J. danced around and scored a 362. Kaitlyn put on some Ben-Gay. She missed and scored a 5. Yes, that is 005. Holy ass that was horrible.

Twill's Two Cents: So, she scored a 005 and smells horrible.

Aksana scored a 666. Does that bode well for her being deported? Maxine scored a 605, so Naomi ran away with the competition. Still to come tonight... "There's more!?!" exclaimed Cole. A.J. vs. Aksana was hyped... [C]

More focus on WWE's work over the years (Hulk Hogan was in the clip) with the troops. First the Make-A-Wish commercials and now this? I think what WWE does is amazing, but this is a timing issue with Linda McMahon's campaign...

[Q4] 2. A.J. (with Primo) defeated Aksana (with Goldust) in 2:18. Crucifix early by A.J. for a two count. Aksana cried. Goldust said something freaky to her to pump her back up. A.J. won the match with a small package...

Twill's Two Cents: Cole made fun of Mathews' announcing career and then reminded him he was broadcasting on WWE.com. Hilarious. Another notch for A.J.

In the ring, Goldust proposed to Aksana so she can stay in the country. "This is riveting," said Cole. She said yes. "Finally! Finally a reason to watch this show!" yelled Cole. Goldust and Aksana celebrated in the corner and said Goldust saved the episode...

Twill's Two Cents: Hasn't Goldust learned his lesson about marrying a woman wrestling talent? Also, I hope social services don't get ahold of this clip because she will be on the first plane out of here. Goldust has programs going on all over the place now. Anyway, thank you for following along with me and I'll be back next week.
