6/10 Shore's WWE Superstars Live Coverage: Gail Kim vs. Alicia Fox, Goldust and Yoshi Tatsu vs. Zack Ryder and Primo, and Kofi Kingston vs. Luke Gallows
Jun 10, 2010 - 07:00 PM

By Chris Shore

Superstars on WGN America
Taped in Miami and Tampa, Fla.

[Q1] The opening video aired, followed by the pyro, and Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcomed us to Superstars...Alicia Fox made her entrance, followed by Gail Kim...

1. Alicia Fox defeated Gail Kim at 4:54. Fox started with a side headlock and pulled the hair when Kim tried to escape. Kim came right back and hit a clothesline for two. Kim went tot he second rope and hit a flying head scissors. She back to the second rope and jumped off. Fox caught her and drove her into the turnbuckle. Ole King and Cole talked on and on about what happened Monday Night. Fox hit a back breaker for two and then strong whipped Kim into the corner for two.

Kim escaped and tried for a head scissor, but For reversed into another back breaker. Fox went for the scissor kick, but Kim moved and started to attack, but Fox kicked her in the stomach. She whipped Kim to the corner and charged. Kim moved and hit a scoop slam for two. Fox stood in the corner and Kim hit her corner splash. She went to the top, but Fox swept the legs and followed with the scissor kick for the win...Post match, Cole promised to have more on the event that “shook the very foundations of this company...”[C]

Shore’s Slant: Cole's laying it on a little thick isn't he? The match was OK. The announce team spent so much time talking about Raw that it distracted from the match. The live crowd didn't have to listen to that, but they sat on their hands anyway. That always hurts a match.

The announce team hyped WWE.com and the star's graduation stories...Zack Ryder and Primo made their ring entrance to Ryder's music. Goldust and Yoshi Tatsu came out to Tatsu's

2. Zack Ryder and Primo defeated Goldust and Yoshi Tatsu at 10:29. Tatsu and Ryder started. They locked up and Tatsu backed into the corner. Ryder broke clean and did his “Woo, woo, woo,” gimmick. He pushed Tatsu and Tatsu chopped him. Goldust tagged in and hit a stiff right on Ryder. Ryder went to the ropes to slow things down. Goldust reversed a whip and hit a flying butt block. Ryder hit a high knee and tagged in Primo.

[Q2] Primo was immediately slammed by Goldust. Tatsu tagged in and they worked a cool double team move with Tatsu hitting a rolling thunder on Primo across Goldust knees. Tatsu tossed Primo to the floor and tried for a plancha, but Primo moved and Tatsu crashed to the floor. He recovered into the break...[C]

Back at 6:33, Ryder had Tatsu in a rest hold. Tatsu tried to escape, and Ryder hit a one man flapjack for tow. Primo tagged in and worked kicks on Tatsu. He hit a drop kick for two and tagged in Ryder. He hit a splash for two and slapped on a body scissor. Tatsu made his feet and Ryder choked him on the rope before Primo hit a kick to the temple. Primo tagged in and covered for two and went back to a rest hold. Tatsu finally broke free and hit a back elbow.

Double hot tags led to Goldust working his offense on Ryder. He hit a bulldog and then mounted the corner for punches. Ryder pushed him off and charged. Goldust reversed into a power slam. He covered and Primo broke the count. Tatsu came in and he and Primo battled. Primo suplexed Tatsu over the top rope, and then Goldust clotheslined Primo over the top rope. He turned around into the Rough Ryder leg lariat for a Ryder win...The announce team hyped the main event...[C]

Shore’s Slant: That was a sleepy kind of match. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good enough to really catch your attention either. Not to mention this crowd is asleep or in the bathroom. Hopefully the Tamp crowd is hotter for the main event.

[Q3] Back from commercial, Todd Grisham and Matt Striker setup the Raw video. Striker was super pissed and said if you wanted to fight someone, you did it face to face. The Raw video showed the entire final 10 to 12 minutes of Raw, but with many different camera angles than from Monday. They did not show Daniel Bryan choke Justin Roberts or spit in Cena's face...Back ringside, Kofi Kingston made his ring entrance with Mike McGillicutty...

Shore’s Slant: You guys are going to get a Water Cooler and blog from me about this angle this week so I won't belabor it here, but two things of note. Gabriel's 450 Splash was perfect. Not good, not great, perfect. And the girl who wore her cap and gown to the show should never be allowed to reproduce.

[Q4][C] Gallows and Serena made their ring entrance...

3. Kofi Kingston (w/Mike McGillicutty) defeated Luke Gallows (w/Serena) at 10:02. They worked about a minute and a half of strikes. Kofi ducked a clothesline attempt and hit a drop kick. Gallows rolled to the floor, and Kofi hit a crossbody from the apron and Gallows recovered into the break...[C]

The last commercial hyped Raw and teased that we would find out more on Raw. So it must be a Raw only angle. How stupid. Back at 5:54, Kofi covered for two. Kofi tried for a crossbody, but Gallows caught him and hit a fall away slam for two. Gallows hit a suplex for two, and worked a choke rest hold. Kofi made his feet and Gallows whipped him to the corner. He charged in, but Kofi moved and went on offense. He hit a flying punch and the Boom Drop. Gallows stood in the corner and Kingston jumped up for the 10 Punches.

Kofi rolled down and tried Gallows hit a big boot for two. Gallows tried to slam Kofi, but Kofi floated over and tried for Trouble in Paradise, but missed. Gallows hit a clothesline for two and setup for Gallows Pole. Kofi slid out and hit the SOS for the win...

Shore’s Slant: An OK match to end the show. Tampa was a much better crowd than Miami, and that helped this a lot. It's been a weird show. Nothing was terrible, but nothing was hot, and everything was overshadowed by the NXT rookies. I'll have more to say tomorrow on the hitlist. Thanks for reading and I'll see you then
