2/4 Shore's WWE Superstars Live Coverage: Eve and Kelly Kelly vs. Alicia Fox and Katie Lea Burchill, Evan Bourne vs. Carlito, and John Morrison, Matt Hardy, and Great Khali vs. The Hart Dynasty and Drew McIntyre
Feb 4, 2010 - 07:00 PM

Superstars on WGN America
Taped in Nashville and Memphis, Tenn.

[Q1]The opening video aired, followed by the pyro, and Michael Cole and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcomed us to Superstars. Kelly Kelly and Eve made their ring entrance, followed by Fox and Burchill…

1. Alicia Fox and Katie Lea Burchill defated Kelly Kelly and Eve at 5:05. Alicia and Eve started. Alicia got a quick headlock, but Eve hip tossed out and Katie Lea tagged in. It all fell apart from there. Katie Lea spilled Eve to the floor on a tough looking bump, and the heels worked the leg. Kelly made the hot tag and slowly hit several moves on Alicia. Alicia rolled through a high crossbody for the win. Post match, the heels celebrated up the ramp as the faces pouted in the ring…The announce team hyped the six man main event…A Royal Rumble hype video aired…[C]

Shore’s Slant: Oh my God. That was terrible. That was unbelievably bad. I mean, we have seen some bad Divas matches, but that…wow. I really don’t know what to say.

Back from commercial, Evan Bourne made his ring entrance. Carlito came out to good heat…

[Q2]2. Evan Bourne defeated Carlito at 12:48. Bourne started with quick offense. He hit a drop toe hold and low drop kick for one. Carlito reversed a whip and hit a drop kick to take control. He slammed Bourne and dropped an elbow for two before locking in a rest hold.

Bourne stood and escaped the hold. He hit a flying leg scissors that spilled Carlito to the floor. He tried a plancha, but Carlito pushed him away. Bourne landed on his feet and hit a high knee that knocked Carlito out. He rolled Carlito in the ring and went to the top. Carlito woke up and rolled to the floor. Bourne posed on the top into the break…[C]

Back at 6:35, Bourne was still in control. He charged at Carlito, but Carlito hit a big boot for two. He put Bourne in the corner and beat him down. He followed with a bottom rope hangman for two, and then locked on a rest hold. Bourne made his feet, but Carlito hit a neck breaker for two. The crowd was really into this match.

Carlito locked in another rest hold. Bourne made his feet again and kicked the legs. He whipped Carlito, but Carlito hit his springboard back elbow for two. He locked on another rest hold, and Bourne finally escaped and scored a near fall. They traded moves and near falls. Bourne hit a roundhouse kick that knocked Carlito out. He went back to the top and Carlito caught him there. He hooked for a superplex, but Bourne reversed into a powerbomb/sunset flip combo. He followed with Air Bourne for the win…The anno8nce team hyped the main event…

Shore’s Slant: Nice recovery for this show. Very entertaining match. They tried to tell a story as opposed to having a spot fest. The only problem was it led to too many rest holds. But I appreciate the effort. The live crowd was really into it by the end, and that always makes it fun to watch.

[Q3][C]An Edge hype video aired…Back ringside, Todd Grisham and Matt Striker took over on the head sets. They set up the Raw Rebound which focused on Vince and Bret. After the video, the announce team hyped exclusive footage of what happened on Raw after it went on the air will be shown tomorrow night on Smackdown…John Morrison made his ring entrance…A NXT commercial aired…[C]

Shore’s Slant: Normally I raise hell when established stars get this video spot, but Edge has been out for a while so it’s cool. Dear God does WWE have great production teams or what? The Edge video was great, and they managed to not make Bret look so weak.

[Q4]Back from commercial, Khali and Matt were in the ring as Khali’s music played. The Harts were out next, followed by McIntyre…

3. John Morrison, Matt Hardy, and Great Khali defeated The Hart Dynasty and Drew McIntyre at 12:37. Hardy and Kidd started as Striker ran down the rules for us. WTF? They traded arm bars and Hardy hit a clothesline. He tagged Morrison and they hit a double team elbow for two. Kidd broke dirty on a rope break and tagged in McIntyre. McIntyre worked heel strikes, but Morrison hit a kick and tagged in Khali.

Khali destroyed McIntyre and Kidd. He lifted McIntyre and tagged in Hardy, who hit an elbow off the second rope for two. Smith distracted the ref, and Kidd got in a cheap shot. Smith tagged in and worked heel on Matt. He hit a suplex for two right before the break…[C]

Back at 7:40, Smith had a headlock on Hardy. Hardy escaped and hit a side Russian leg sweep. Kidd and Morrison got the tags, and Morrison worked his offense. He hit a flying heel kick and looked at McIntyre. McIntyre went to the floor, and Kidd hit a kick on Morrison. He tried for a hurricanranna, but Morrison reversed into a powerbomb for two. Kidd reversed a whip into the corner and tossed Morrison to the floor. Natalya ran over and got in a cheap kick.

The heels worked Morrison on the floor. They finally got him back in the ring and Smith hit three belly to belly suplexes without releasing until the third for two. He lifted Morrison, who escaped and hit a capoeira kick and tagged in Hardy. Hardy worked his offense and hit a side effect. Kidd and Morrison broke up the count and knocked Khali to the floor. Smith picked up Hardy for a double Hart Attack, but Khali grabbed McIntyre and Kidd and dragged them to the floor.

Khali chopped McIntyre, and then Morrison hit a double running clothesline from the barrier. In the ring, Matt hit Twist of Fate and tagged in Khali. Khali hit the Punjabi Plunge for the win. Post match, the faces danced to Khali’s music to end the show…

Shore’s Slant: OK match. I think I’m most excited about a Kidd vs. Morrison match out of everything I saw tonight. Khali stayed out of the way for the most part, and the guys who can work got the most time. It filled a good spot after that mess of a first match. I’ll have more tomorrow on the hitlist. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you then.
