Taped in Winter Park, Fla. At Full Sail University

After the opening videos The were shown stood at the top of the ramp in ring gear, they made their entrance to a polite response. Byron Saxton checked in on commentary followed by William Regal. The Uso’s made their entrance to little reaction at first but a good reaction after their pyro hit.

1. Jey Uso vs. Kenneth Cameron. Both men locked up and Cameron took Jey down from behind. Jey quickly returned the favour. Jey sent Cameron to the outside and attempted to gain control but Cameron hit a big boot out of the corner. He took Jey down and grounded him with a body scissors and headlock combo as the crowd chanted "Cameron sucks" and "you suck" very loudly. Jey tried to come back however Cameron countered a running strike by arm dragging him into the turnbuckle. Cameron rolled around on the ring with a smile on his face before going for the pin.

Cameron slowed the pace by pounding on Jey. Jey dogged an elbow drop and hit the usual Uso comeback offense. He went for the hip attack in the corner but Connor O’Brian tripped him up. Cameron used the interference to hit a suplex neckbreaker for a near fall. As Cameron picked up Jey, Jey pushed him into the ropes and hit him with a flying super kick on the rebound for the win...

Jey Uso defeated Kenneth Cameron in 5:28.

After the match The Usos celebrated in the crowd as Regal stated that this rivalry is far from over. We then cut to commercial... [C]

Short’s Synopsis: Good opener. Cameron was solid in the ring and Jey, as always, looked good too. I said a couple of weeks ago that The Ascension would benefit from toning down on the theatrics and I’ll say here that when they do it does make for a better match. They’re far more believable and enjoyable when the tone the theatrics down. Overall; good work.

[C] Backstage, Dusty was shown talking to creepy Rob Naylor when Rick Victor walked in. Victor said he could beat Rollins. Dusty said he doesn’t give away matches against the NXT champion. He said that Victor should show him what he can do, and Rick said he will prove himself. Rick left, and Dusty told Rob he thought he was pretty good...

Back in the arena, Big E Langston walked into the arena, clapping chalk on his hands to a decent reaction. His opponent; Chad Baxter, was introduced in the ring to no reaction...

2. Big E Langston vs. Chad Baxter. Langston clubbed the crap out of Baxter to begin. Baxter hit a couple of strikes and attempted a sunset flip but Big E picked him up and threw him in the corner. He hit shoulder tackles in the corner and threw his head into the turnbuckle. He took Baxter to the middle of the ring and hit three rib breakers. He hit a running body splash and took the straps of his singlet down. He then hit the Big Ending for the win...

Big E Langston defeated Chad Baxter in 2:15.

After the match, Langston hit another Big Ending as the crowd chanted "one more time". He then counted his own pinfall of five. Langston grabbed the mic as the crowd chanted "one more time" again. He said a three count was normal, but he isn't. From now on, his opponents will feel the pain and agony of being beaten for a five count. He went to leave the ring but then re-entered for another Big Ending and another mock five count...

Backstage, Kassius Ohno was shown sat backstage in the same clothes he wore backstage last week. He said he tried to warn people that he was dangerous. He said no one seemed to get it, so next week, there will be the first ever Ohno sparring session, and afterwards, people would understand how dangerous he was... [C]

Short’s Synopsis: I love the addition of the five count gimmick to Big E’s gimmick. I’m sure it’s been done before but I don’t ever recall seeing it. Big E was decent on the mic here. He got his point over in a serious tone which matches his character. The Kassius segment reminded me of JR’s interview with Mankind all those years ago with the exception that Mick Foley was convincing as a calm yet dangerous man. I really hope Kassius and creative find a way to make this work and match the level of his ring work. His ring work is phenomenal and I’d really like to see him on the main roster sooner rather than later.

A video package showed lots of different superstars and divas asking "Where's Trent?". A voiceover said that Trent had been missing for 6 months, but will return with a new inspiration. After a graphic saying 'He has been found' showed, Briley Pierce was shown opening a door backstage, where Trent was watching a monitor and eating some kind of snack. Briley asked him if he wanted to wrestle next week, and Trent simply said yes in a funny way...

Short’s Synopsis: Great news that Trent’s back. He’s a great worker and is extremely fun to watch. His backstage segment with Briley Pierce had me laughing and I look forward to seeing him back in a WWE ring.

[C] Back in the arena, Garrett Dylan made his entrance to no reaction. He was acting like Trevor Murdoch when he was a babyface, and throwing up the devil horns. The crowd popped quite a bit as Damien Sandow made his entrance. He got in the ring and grabbed a mic. He said his usual intro and that instead of competing, he was willing to give Dylan the choice to sit at ringside and listen to lecture he had prepared. Dylan refused, and Sandow disrobed...

3. Damien Sandow vs. Garrett Dylan. Both men locked up and Sandow cornered Dylan  several times and pounded on him with several punches, kicks, shoulder blocks etc. Dylan fought back with a shoulder block of his own and a clothesline. He tried to pick Sandow up, but Sandow hit his beautiful rolling Russian leg sweep. Sandow then hit his elbow. He said "you’re welcome" and hit by his cross arm neckbreaker...

Damien Sandow defeated Garrett Dylan in 2:38.

Sandow performed the intellectual cartwheel, and then, when the fans chanted "one more time," he teased doing it before refusing and leaving...

Backstage, Briley Pierce was stood with Seth Rollins. He asked what Seth's thoughts were on facing either Tyson Kidd or Michael McGillicutty after their number 1 contenders match later on the show. Rollins said he will take on all challengers, friend or foe.

Rick Victor walked in and said it was easy to say you would take on anybody when you're being protected. He asked if Seth knew who he was, and when Seth said no, Victor threw the most embarrassing slap I have ever seen. Seth looked angry, and said he did know who he was, and he is now on the top of his "list"...

The Raw rebound highlighted CM Punk and John Cena's closing segment...

Backstage, Dusty was in his office. Seth Rollins walked in asking if Dusty had seen what happened. Rollins demanded a match next week with Victor, and Dusty gave it him. Saxton then announced that the main event of Kidd vs. McGillicutty was next... [C]

Short’s Synopsis: Sandow was riot here after his match, simply not performing the intellectual cartwheel after he teased doing it was a great move which goes so well with his character. Seeing Sandow was completely unnecessary but fun to watch.

[C] Tyson Kidd made his entrance to a good pop. JR checked in on commentary as McGillicutty made his entrance. The extremely annoying "Sha!" chants started literally as soon as his music hit...

4. Tyson Kidd vs. Michael McGillicutty.  The commentators praised the previous matches between these two and how much they were looking forward to this match as both men locked up. Tyson took McGillicutty down and wrestled McGillicutty all over the ring in the early going. He used several impressive looking, flashy transitions. Kidd sent McGillicutty to the outside twice. McGillicutty finally gained control after a kick to Tyson’s gut during a test of strength...[C]

[C] Back from the break McGillicutty had Tyson grounded with several punches and a rest hold. Tyson managed to escape and a nice sunset flip. McGillicutty kicked out and hit a big club to the back of the head for a two count. He then viciously threw Tyson into the corner. "A let’s go Tyson/Sha, Sha, Sha" chant started. Ok, that was funny. Tyson ended up on the apron and hit McGillicutty with his signature kick. He got back in the ring and picked up the pace with several kicks. He hit a running dropkick for a two count. McGillicutty rolled to the outside, only for Tyson to hit with him a dropkick through the ropes, followed by his awesome running kick. This got a nice reaction. Back in the ring, Tyson tried for a springboard elbow but McGillicutty countered with his knees and hit a Perfectplex for a near fall.

McGillicutty climbed to the top rope but Kidd caught him. Kidd hit a hurricanrana from the top rope for another near fall. Both men sold the damage they had taken. When they got back up, McGillicutty hit a jawbreaker. He went for a back suplex however Kidd countered with an enziguri attempt, McGillicutty countered this and hit the McGillicutter for the win...

Michael McGillicutty defeated Tyson Kidd in 9:30.

JR said the match was fantastic, and Saxton added that the title picture was becoming really interesting. This brought NXT to a close...

Short’s Synopsis: I’m convinced these two could not put on a bad match together. The just work so well together and have great chemistry. We’ve seen them have better matches but not by much.

For week’s NXT has seemed to be solely about getting to the crowning of the first NXT champion and now that we’ve seen that I think we’re seeing a show that flows well. This NXT was a great example of that. We now know who the major players are regarding the NXT Championship and we also got character development for Kassius Ohno and Big E. The NXT roster is full of exciting superstars and now that we know who the major superstars are it will be fun to see them develop.

Thanks for taking time out to read my review of this week’s NXT. If you have any questions or just fancy a chat about anything; especially NXT and wrestling in general follow me on twitter @JoshTubeShort. Cheers.
