Main Event on Ion Television
Taped earlier in San Jose, California.

[Q1] 1. Alberto Del Rio vs. Cody Rhodes in a non-title match. Del Rio went for the Crossarm Breaker early, but Rhodes slipped away from the hold. Del Rio controlled most of the early going and hit a tilt-o-whirl backbreaker.

Rhodes got in a few hope spots, but Del Rio managed to keep him at bay. Rhodes caught Del Rio with a Beautiful Disaster out of nowhere, and Del Rio rolled to the floor. Del Rio sold on the outside… [C]

Back from the break, Del Rio regained control off of a hotshot. He continued to work over Cody's back and neck. Rhodes managed to hit Del Rio with a moonsault and began to make his comeback. Del Rio caught Rhodes with the Crossarm Breaker while hanging from the ropes. He broke before the five count and Rhodes answered with another Disaster kick for a great near fall.

[Q2] Del Rio waiting for Rhodes to follow up before springing up and hitting an arm breaker. Rhodes fought out of the subsequent Crossarm Breaker attempt, and Del Rio hit a bridging German suplex for another near fall.

Rhodes hit Cross Rhodes, but he was unable to capitalize and cover Del Rio. Del Rio threw Rhodes into the turnbuckle and finally locked Rhodes in the Crossarm Breaker. Rhodes was forced to tap... [C]

Alberto Del Rio defeated Cody Rhodes in 13:52.

Ryan's Reaction: That was a good match. It took them a while to get things going, but after the commercial break the wrestlers kept a great pace and broke out spots we don't always get to see. Strong open for the night.

The announcers set up a video package chronicling the history of CM Punk and Paul Heyman and the reason why they are feuding today…

2. The Uso Brothers vs. Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre (w/Jinder Mahal). The Usos controlled the early going. Jimmy Uso threw McIntyre to the outside and on top of his fellow 3MB members…

[Q3] [C] Back from the break, Heath Slater was in control and stomping Jimmy Uso in the corner. Both men tagged out and the Usos went back to controlling the offense. Jinder Mahal caused a distraction on the outside, and McIntyre hit Jimmy with a big boot to regain control.

The heels roughed up Jimmy Uso and worked quick tags to kept him on their side of the ring. Eventually, Jimmy hit McIntyre with a Samoan Drop and was able to get the hot tag to Jey. Jey stormed the ring and hit Slater with a wrecking ball, but McIntyre broke the count.

Moments later, Jey tagged in his brother, clipped Slater with a superkick, and followed with a dive to the outside to take out the rest of 3MB. Jimmy Uso hit Slater with the Superfly Splash and covered him for the 1-2-3… [C]

The Uso Brothers defeated Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre in 10:43.

Ryan's Reaction: Decent enough match, but it was dragged on a bit long. The Usos got in so much offense that it served as more of an enhancement match than anything else, but it was dragged on for far too long.

[Q4] The announcers set up a recap of John Cena and Daniel Bryan's great verbal exchange on Raw… [C]

3. Justin Gabriel vs. Big E Langston (w/ AJ). Langston tore into Gabriel early. Gabriel hit a dropkick and charged Langston in the corner, but Langston floored Gabriel with an urinagi. Langston continued to wear down Gabriel's midsection.

Langston hit his triple backbreaker and went for a second running splash, but Gabriel rolled out of the way. Gabriel began to mount some offense and finally knocked Langston down with a springboard moonsault for a two count.

Langston answered with a flapjack and the Big Ending to put Gabriel away.

Big E Langston defeated Justin Gabriel in 6:24.

Ryan's Reaction: Langston is very impressive. He's got a great intensity and agility in the ring that few big man can match. This was a simple enhancement match for Langston, but it was an effective one as Gabriel sold well for everything Langston did. Overall, this was an enjoyable edition of Main Event. The bookend matches delivered and the tag match was passable. Thanks for following along with me tonight.
