WWE NXT on the SyFy Network
Taped in earlier tonight in Atlanta, GA

[Q1] The show started with highlights of the Keg Carry challenge and the first elimination, Titus O'Neal. The opening montage was aired and was tortured with Wild and Young for 30 seconds. Matt Striker was in the ring already and welcomed everyone to NXT. He said there are seven rookies remaining and its very important what the Universe thinks of the rookies. He introduced the pros and asked for insight. He asked Ryder his thoughts and asked people who voted Titus and he put him over. Morrison said what he done different and he would have voted off the Miz, funny. The rookies made their entrance.

Mind of Marv: Is Zack Ryder turning babyface or is my brain getting cooked by the 100 degree weather here in the East Coast?

Striker said they know where they stand and he asked Husky Harris what he needs to do to stay in the competition. Husky asked a million and one question and asked. Riley couldn't believe that he was 4th and he kissed Vince's ass and ripped Kaval about his height. Kaval answered his critics by saying listen to the WWE Universe. Striker said it takes charisma but they have to connect with the WWE Universe. He mentioned that Lucky Cannon got immunity. Striker said that the Talk the Talk challenge consist of them thinking for ten seconds and cutting a thirty second promo.

Mind of Marv: By the way, Jason Powell is in the members forum chatting about the show, so feel free to join him with your thoughts of the show.

[Q2] Striker said the winner of the challenge will have their own talk show next week on NXT...

Percy Watson: Glasses - Percy talked about his glasses because his vision is to succeed and asked everyone if they are ready for Showtime…

Kaval: Chicken - He said chicken should not exist in the WWE and he put over the crowd…

Eli Cottonwood: Mustache - He looked dumbfounded and said that a mustache is for a real man and he had the best mustache of them all…and got X-Pac heat…

Michael McGillicutty: Breath - He talked about his grandpa and father and by the end of NXT, he will take everyone's breath away…

Husky Harris: Doorknob - He said that the crowd didn't deserve to hear him talk…

Lucky Cannon: Deodorant - He cut some boring ass promo about how WWE needs him…

Alex Riley: Pigeon - He talked about animals and said he is the rooster of hen house, and called everyone in the ring pigeons…

Winner: "Showtime" Percy Watson

Cole pitched ideas about Percy's show and Mathews ripped him. The tag team main event in later tonight…[C]

Mind of Marv: This segment was better than I expected. I'm starting to dig this flamboyant gimmick of Percy Watson…

1. Michael McGillicutty defeated "Showtime" Percy Watson in 3:00. Watson kicked the match off with a nice dropkick into a key lock. Mike hit a nice dropkick to Percy for a one count. Mike hit a snapnear takedown to Percy for a one count. Mike clotheslined and hit a backbreaker for a nearfall. Percy hit a dropkick but Mike switched to a roll up for the win.

Mind of Marv: Did I blink and missed this match? This match was seriously too quick to determine. But I like that McGillicutty is undefeated at 4-0…

[Q3] The bloopers from the Keg Carrying contest was shown and video of the pros putting over and ripping Titus O'Neal. Video was shown of Titus's goodbye speech. The Miz made his entrance with his rookie, Alex Riley. The Miz faces Kaval, next…[C]

2. United States Champion The Miz pinned Kaval in 8:15. Kaval kicked Miz a few times early in the match and lock up in the corner. Miz hit a big boot to Kaval and kneed him in the back. Miz hit another big boot for a nearfall. Kaval hit Miz in the chest a couple of times but Miz came back with offense in the corner. The Miz did his clothesline in the corner for a nearfall. Kaval fell on Miz with a standing crossbody for a nearfall. Miz caught Kaval and threw him out of the ring. [C]

The show returned with Miz applying a chin lock and during the commercial, Miz dominated outside of the ring. Kaval went for the rollup and stomped on the Miz for a nearfall. Kaval came back with hot like fire offense and finished it with an inziguri for a nearfall. Kaval went for the Warrior's Way but the Miz countered by tripping Kaval off the ropes and hitting the Skull Crushing Finale for the win…

Mind of Marv: This was an good match for the time allotted but if Kaval had gotten a little more offense and 3 more minutes of wrestling, it would have been better. But no major complaints here…

[Q4] Eli Cottonwood was spotlighted and the pros ripped and commended him.

Mind of Marv: I like these segments with the pros (face or heel) giving their real thoughts about the rookies, because it doesn't show any favoritism towards anyone…

The tag team main event is still to come…[C]

The RAW Rebound was shown, the announcers hyped Nexus vs. Cena and Edge vs. Orton for next week, and the current MITB card was ran down. Husky Harris was profiled and the pros did their thing with the criticism…

[Overrun] Cody and Husky made their way to the ring…[C]

The Nexus are coming to NXT next week…should be an interesting show.

3. "Dashing" Cody Rhodes and Husky Harris defeated Mark Henry and Lucky Cannon in 3:00. Lucky and Husky started the matchup. Lucky hit a fireman's takedown and the pros got in the matchup. Henry headbutted Cody and bench pressed him. Henry tried to sit on Cody but he moved and Husky got some kicks in and went for the cover for a nearfall. The heels worked on Henry in the corner and Henry came back with a clothesline. Cody and Lucky got back in the match. Lucky flipped Cody for a nearfall. Cody hit the CrossRoads for the win…

Mind of Marv: Another short match which Cannon looks absolutely weak. He got immunity last week but he's my clear cut guy to be eliminated next because his promo skills are bad and he's green in the ring. Overall, this wasn't a bad show but it was average to the casual viewer…

Rich Twilling will provide the NXT Hitlist in the morning and as always, send all feedback to mr.hermanstyne@gmail.com and I will be back later this week for Smackdown. The MITB columns are coming next week so keep a good eye out for them after the updates (i.e. R-Truth's replacement and the final two entrants on the Smackdown side).
